V Opens Up About Missing Yeontan, Leaving ARMY In Tears

BTS successfully wrapped up three nights of concerts on the 16th, 17th, and 19th at Stanford Stadium — marking the group’s first time reuniting with fans in the San Francisco area since their concert at Oakland Arena during their 2018 world tour. While BTS performed in a basketball arena with around 20,000 seats eight years ago, this time the scale expanded 2.5 times larger, moving to an outdoor football stadium with a capacity of up to 50,000 attendees each night.

The arrival of BTS’s concerts also brought huge excitement to the local community. CBS News reported that the three shows would generate millions of dollars in tax revenue for local authorities thanks to increased spending on hotels, restaurants, and transportation.

Before leaving Stanford after their impressive performances, four members — j-hope, V, Jimin, and RM — met fans through a livestream while eating late-night snacks and resting as a farewell greeting. During the broadcast, they talked about many interesting topics, from the members’ daily lives lately to checking in on their parents’ health and even sharing funny stories from their military days.

The topic of hairstyles also came up during the conversation. Recently, the members have gone through several appearance changes: Jimin has been drawing attention with his long blond hair, while j-hope, RM, and V all tried blond highlights on black hair. Many ARMYs jokingly commented that it looked like “one bottle of bleach was divided among three people, and the rest was poured onto Jimin’s head” when the four members sat together during the livestream.

Meanwhile, j-hope suddenly asked, “Taehyung, what was on your mind when you went blonde on part of your hair?” RM quickly followed up with a guess: “Was it because it reminded you of Tannie?” It seemed that he had seen recent fan posts comparing V’s hairstyle to the fur color of V’s late dog, Yeontan, and connected the two as a possible reason.

In response to the emotional αѕѕumption, V honestly replied, “Honestly, I didn’t really think that far ahead.” RM then commented, “Your hair right now looks just like Tannie.” Afterward, V explained the real reason behind his hairstyle choice: “I just wanted to try a hairstyle that no one else has done before.”

Although V clarified that the hair dye choice was random and unrelated to Yeontan, fans are convinced that memories of Yeontan still remain deeply in his heart. Over the past two years since Yeontan pαѕѕed away, V has not expressed his gяιєf very openly on social media, but fans have still sensed his longing through the way he spoke about Yeontan’s pαѕѕing, the livestream he did on Tan’s birthday last year, and the photos he shares with dogs or cats he encounters. Perhaps even RM could feel that quiet and profound longing, which is why he asked V that question!

Even though the conversation only lasted a few brief seconds and V quickly moved on with his gentle response, fans are certain that V is still trying to heal from the loss of Yeontan during these years. Because of that, the moment left many ARMYs emotional, commenting:

- Even the members know that his hair looks like tannie im crying. He actually always remembers his son

- I think when he colored his hair that way, subconsciously, he was thinking of Yeontan. Because days from that, he changed his IG profile picture to his baby Tan

- The way Tae started thinking and everyone went silent for awhile actually....

- The face Tae makes... and the moment everything went silent until he spoke again... my baby

- It's just common sense. If even we can guess it, imagine them—they've been together for 10 years through thick and thin. They definitely know each other inside out

- The little face when he mentions Yeontan...It kinda feels like Taehyung is still somewhat avoiding the topic of Yeontan because he still hasn’t been able to get over the pain

- I just know the other members misses yeontan too. RIP my fur baby

- You can tell he still misses Tannie so deeply even if he doesn’t talk about it much… some losses never fully leave your heart

- The way RM immediately thought of Yeontan too means the members probably know how much Taehyung still carries that pain quietly

- Sometimes people avoid talking about someone they loved because the memory still hurts too much. My heart really broke for Taehyung here
