Living up to the immense expectations as one of the most highly anticipated comebacks of the year, Jungkook, together with BTS, has set social media abuzz over the past week since the release of their fifth studio album ARIRANG. From the grand stage at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul to The Tonight Show in the United States, Jungkook has captivated fans with his unparalleled aura and outstanding musical performances, making it impossible for anyone to look away.
Not only that, Jungkook has also proven himself adept at stirring up social media with his active presence across multiple platforms. On the 26th, he υиєχρє¢тє∂ly followed a series of TikTok accounts belonging to well-known K-pop idols such as BLACKPINK, TWICE, EXO, NMIXX, and ITZY—soмєтнing not many celebrities, especially at Jungkook’s level, would typically do. Yet he went ahead and followed not just one but many artists beyond BTS.

As if that wasn’t enough, he also “revived” his long-inactive Threads account by consecutively posting dance challenge videos he had recently shared on TikTok, including a Swim dance challenge with V. On the morning of the 27th, he even added a new video filmed in an elevator with BTS members, set to Swim, further reinforcing the promotion of the title track.
However, what caught fans’ attention the most was an υиєχρє¢тє∂ly adorable “mistake” Jungkook made during his first posts on the platform. Specifically, he maintained his habit of using multiple hashtags as on other social media platforms, writing long captions filled with tags such as #bts, #jungkook, #jk, #v, #swim… As a result, these hashtags were no longer clickable, leaving many fans amused.

In fact, Threads aims to build a space centered more on discussion and community connection rather than the fast-paced, overwhelming flow of updates seen on other social networks, which is why hashtags on the platform are often limited. On older platforms, many users have taken advantage of trending hashtags to post unrelated content in order to gain views. By restricting posts to a single topic tag and minimizing the visibility of the “#” symbol, Threads significantly reduces this issue and helps maintain a higher-quality content feed.
However, for newcomers like Jungkook, not yet being familiar with this system is completely understandable. Some fans left notes for Jungkook, saying: "Jungkook, you’re not supposed to use so many hashtags on Threads. He really is a newbie in Threads City", "Welcome to Threads, but please drop the hashtags", "Kookie, hashtags aren’t useful on this platform, Jungkook",...
Meanwhile, others expressed great amusement at how Jungkook seemed to take over every social media platform on that day, commenting:
- I’m crying. Jungkook really said “#everything” on a platform that barely even uses hashtags
- The way he spammed hashtags like it’s Instagram while Threads is just sitting there like “we don’t do that here”
- Not Jungkook going from silent on Instagram to EVERYWHERE in one day. What happened to lowkey king?
- Jungkook used to be a ghost on Instagram and now he’s chronically online on every platform. I can’t keep up
- I knew downloading threads bc of him would be of use at some point
- He packed those captions with hashtags for nothing. None of them even work, this is so funny
- Jungkook treating Threads like TikTok/IG while Threads quietly ignores all the hashtags is sending me
- Not him using #bts #jk #v #swim like it’s 2019 Twitter… baby this is Threads
- The funniest part is how serious he was about those hashtags and Threads just said “nope”
- The switch from “barely posts” to “spamming everything” is actually insane and I love it
- He said goodbye to mysterious Instagram era and hello to full-time social media menace
- Jungkook really woke up and chose to be active on ALL platforms at the same time
