On December 4, Jin celebrated his 33rd birthday, receiving countless well-wishes from BTS members and fans around the world. On his birthday last year, he wasn’t able to celebrate it in a grand way as usual due to military restrictions, so this year he couldn’t contain his happiness, expressing it in a letter to his fans.
He also wrote sincerely: "A lot of good things happened this year. I released a solo album, had a concert, and all the members came back from the military without a big α¢¢ι∂єит. What a grateful year it's been. Thanks to you, my birthday is back without much trouble haha. I always say this, but thanks to ARMY, I want to say thank you for working and living a happy life. ARMY, thank you always and I love you."
In addition to sending the letter to ARMYs in advance, Jin kept his promise by going live at 2 p.m. KST to blow out the birthday candles with millions of fans worldwide. What’s special is that he went live before attending dance practice with the other BTS members. Even as a top global K-pop superstar, he still had to work on his birthday — no exceptions, showing just how diligent he is!

Although he was very busy that day with personal schedules and group activities, he still spent a long time chatting with ARMYs on various topics and answering their questions. Among them was a request from some fans expressing their hope that Jin would bring back his legendary series Eat Jin.
Fans who have followed BTS from the early days surely remember Jin’s mukbang videos and live eating broadcasts under this iconic label. Through Eat Jin, Worldwide Handsome showed fans his great love for food in the most relaxed and authentic way. His funny reactions to food, along with unforgettable meme-worthy moments, left a lasting impression on fans.

However, it seems that, at least in the near future, Eat Jin will be difficult to return, as Jin admitted that he can no longer eat as well as he used to. He explained in response to fans’ questions: "Oh, Eat Jin! Long ago, I used to do eating content called Eat Jin. But maybe it's because I've gotten older or because I exercise less, but I don't eat as much as I used to and I can't even eat a whole bowl of rice. Some days I eat two bowls but some days I can't eat even one. So it doesn't have that feeling of eating deliciously and my appetite has decreased a bit."
He continued: "What was I in the middle of saying? Oh yeah, Eat Jin! I was talking about Eat Jin. My appetite had decreased a bit so I didn't feel that it was truly authentic anymore, so I stopped doing them."

Fans really respect Jin’s honesty. Indeed, people loved watching Eat Jin because he seemed to enjoy every bite, from large steaks to fresh green vegetables. Even the simplest dishes looked delicious when he ate them, making others crave them instantly.
But if he were to bring Eat Jin back just to please fans while his taste and appetite are no longer the same, the series would lose its original meaning. Fans watching those moments wouldn’t feel the same happiness or charm.
While Jin’s statement made many fans feel regretful, realizing it might be a long time before he regains his appetite for Eat Jin, other fans expressed understanding and said they are willing to wait until he truly wants to do it again:
- My precious little baby, please eat well. you are so beautiful when you are chubby and eating deliciously
- Jin… I see. I hope you get to eat the delicious things and the foods you want whenever you want
- I relate to him so much so I know your feeling. I love you Jin. We can wait for the day you're ready for doing Eat Jin again
- I’m really worried about Jin’s health… it’s sad that we might not see Eat Jin again for a while
- It breaks my heart that Jin can’t enjoy eating like before… He's ever food lover
- We understand, Jin! Your health comes first and that’s all that matters
- Take all the time you need, Jin. We just want you to be happy and healthy
- Seeing Jin say he can’t eat like before makes me so sad… I hope he stays healthy and happy even if Eat Jin is paused
- Eat Jin was legendary… I’m going to miss it so much, but I hope Jin takes care of himself first
- Thank you for being honest, Jin! We’ll wait patiently until you feel ready to do Eat Jin again
- It’s okay, Jin! We love you for who you are, not just for Eat Jin. Please take care of yourself
