Since becoming an idol until now, Jin has had many friends who are famous people in the industry. Not only that, all the celebrities who have come into contact with Jin have constantly expressed praise for his friendly and kind personality.

However, from Jin's perspective, there are some things about himself that he cannot control that make him not have many friends. He admitted the fact that he really doesn't have as many close friends as people think for this reason.

In the eyes of Jin's fans and admirers, everyone thinks that the life of a celebrity is enviable. He has a successful career, great reputation, respect and great wealth. Obviously, the aura of being a celebrity is undeniable.

When he became a celebrity, Jin did not change and he always kept in mind that no matter what, his heart for the people around him would always remain intact.

However, Jin has heard many of his friends confess that becoming a famous artist makes them feel shy and even difficult to communicate with him like before. It seems that fame becomes an obstacle that destroys the friendship between Jin and his friends. Meanwhile, he didn't have many friends since he was in school, so by the time he became a trainee, the number of close friends had decreased significantly. He said that: "I’ve been a trainee since I was 19. Since then I don’t have friends".

Jin also pointed out that celebrity life left him socially deprived. At the moment, other than BTS, he said that he has very little list of people that he is truly comfortable with other than the members. The showbiz celebrities he is close to are less than 10 people, a surprising number compared to what we expect from him. Jin continued, "If you look at the contact list on my phone, I have less than ten celebrity friends."

According to Jin, it is difficult for others to act normally in front of any BTS member. Despite having met thousands of people throughout their career as singers so far, finding someone who doesn't "feel the pressure" on them is like finding a needle in a haystack. "Most people don’t want to be friends with us because they feel pressured", he said.

But this feeling is not really created by him and the group members, but is influenced by other people's perspectives. So that's why the BTS members are so close to each other because they share the same "feeling". At least, for Jin, he also has BTS members always by his side and supporting him.

This isn't the first time BTS has revealed that they have less of a close friendship than people thought. RM and SUGA for example have mentioned similar things in the past. RM once talked about how his old friends didn't dare contact him when he was famous for fear that he would misunderstand their simple friendship. Meanwhile, SUGA said all his social relationships fell apart when he became a celebrity because people were worried about being friends with an idol.
