“Is It A Nuisance?” Bang PD Spills On His Real Thoughts About BTS’s Enlistment And The Impact On The Group’s Future

The issue of m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service used to be a problem that hindered a lot in the years when the BTS members were not enlisted. Although they are all under the age of enlistment, there are many people who criticize BTS for no reason because of this.

Meanwhile, BTS and Bang Si Hyuk always see enlistment as a road that the group will go through. They also prepared a lot for this and even discussed what it meant for the group's career.

Recently, in an interview with CNN News, Bang Si Hyuk once talked about his and BTS's thoughts on the matter of enlistment:

Jin has been serving in the army for about 3 months and next time, j-hope will be the next BTS member to enlist. Surely this year, the news about the enlistment of BTS members will be many more times because of the group's goal of meeting in 2025.

BTS considers the plan to enlist in the army as part of the group's next 10-year journey - called chapter 2. During this journey, BTS will promote solo activities and let each member show off their charisma from their personal music while fulfilling their duty to the country. It was a really meaningful and important journey for the whole group.

Meanwhile, since the news that BTS will be enlisting in the army and suspending group activities for a while has spread publicly, many people are negative that BTS has disbanded or even won't be able to re-enter. as successful as the previous 10 years. But instead of being affected by these negative rumors, BTS and HYBE always rea̾s̾sured and a̾s̾sured ARMYs that their enlistment and these first years are just the beginning of a long future for both of  group and fans.

Recently, Bang Si Hyuk continued to once again recall the meaning of this period of BTS' hiatus and m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service in an important interview with CNN News. Bang PD spent many hours talking with Richard - host of Quest Means Business at HYBE's headquarters in кσяєα.

At first, the conversation was very cheerful, including Richard's idea of becoming an idol in his 40s. But then, when they sat down and started the important topics, the situation became more serious. Topics include the recent SM Entertainment purchase, business direction and, of course, a hot topic for a long time regarding Bang PD-created K-Pop superstar - BTS and m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service.

Richard leads the story that from day one Bang PD has known about BTS having to do m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service, is it somєthing he wants to see as a advantage or as a relative nuisance. Bang PD then emphasized that of course no artist wants a long hiatus in their career, calling it "seperate issue from the mindset that we faithfully and gladly serve the country".

However, Bang PD also clarified his and BTS's views on this matter by noting that they have discussed their m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service many times since 2018. And in the end, they decided together that this would be a turning point in their careers.

Bang PD explained this: "BTS and I were talking about (m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service) since early 2018.. We've been prepared to turn this into a turning point in their career. It's obviously true that they needed this time of rest after such an intense period of hard work. They can't remain the BTS of today but need to grow and change as artists."

Next, the two discussed the relationship between BTS and Bang PD during the important milestones of their careers. To this, Bang PD replied that he thinks of himself as a mentor, a producer, a father, best friend, a big brother, etc. and he thinks BTS is not surprised by this either.

And among all ARMYs, this is recognized by BTS and Bang PD who have accompanied each other from the first steps to the present successful moment. Certainly Bang PD is also the one who understands what BTS wants and is working on the most, so his above statements, as a leader or whatever BTS are, once again emphasize that BTS's career as artists is just beginning.

So what ARMYs need to do is trust and wait for them!
