Although they are global K-pop superstars, BTS members in general – and V and Jungkook in particular – also enjoy eating at mid-range restaurants or having popular everyday dishes. In the past, many ARMYs and even non-fans have shared stories about α¢¢ι∂єитally running into V and Jungkook at restaurants.
Many of those people even received autographs or had a brief interaction with the idols, leaving a lasting impression. However, quite a few of those lucky enough to have seen the superstars in real life chose to remain silent until they left, or refrained from showing too much emotion or drawing attention to the idols, in order to keep them comfortable and maintain their privacy.
Such actions have been widely praised within the fandom and are encouraged as a way to avoid interfering with the artists’ private lives off stage. However, the curiosity of the crowd is not soмєтнing that can be changed overnight. Jungkook and V recently became victims of this very situation!
On Saturday, September 6, a netizen posted on the кσяєαn platform NAVER, revealing that she had seen V and Jungkook at a restaurant called Bangul and Kkomak in Hannam-dong. The appearance of V and Jungkook was also confirmed by the restaurant owner when this netizen asked through Instagram messages whether BTS had been there.
But what was even more noteworthy was that the netizen also reported that she witnessed the two members “leaving shortly after” because many people approached them while they were eating at the restaurant.
Bangul and Kkomak is already a popular, crowded pub restaurant where reservations are required, and the waiting time is usually at least two hours. When the two idols were spotted, even more people flocked to the restaurant. The crowding became so severe that Jungkook and V were forced to leave in order to avoid causing chaos at the restaurant and to keep themselves from being disturbed.
When the OP’s post was shared on social media, fans and netizens expressed outrage that their nice meal had been disrupted and could not be enjoyed until the end. They also expressed disappointment at the lack of courtesy and respect shown by a portion of fans who crossed the personal boundaries of the two artists.
Online forums were soon flooded with fan comments about the situation:
- Taekook were seen together at a restaurant but had to leave because people kept interrupting them??? Just because they are being friendly and sweet to you doesn't mean you need to invade their privacy 24*7. That's not how real fans behave
- I’m sad they had to leave because people don’t respect their private time.
- Not again… I've spotted many celebrities casually hanging out, but I never once asked for a selfie or tried chatting them up — maybe because I hate that being done to me too!
- As exciting as this is, if you see them together please continue with what you were doing like you didn't; let them breathe please. They are human.
- Why would they have to share it themselves if it was a private outing? The restaurant owner didn’t invade their privacy—they shared it the next day; you can stay mad.
- And if it's true that they had to leave because people kept approaching them... I wish people would let them be out like that, let them have some normalcy...
- Now it’s even worse. The restaurant didn’t respect their privacy while they were there, that Taekook had to run away. It’s a place not to go because they don’t respect anyone there. RESPECT THEIR PRIVACY
- Please respect for BTS. They need to spend time alone and don’t disturb them or stay away of them. They need some privacy alone. If anything happened again, HYBE will going to report the ρσℓι¢є or Weverse will send the criminal and protection by HYBE. Everyone, leave BTS alone
