j-hope Opens Up About The Meaning Of His New Tattoo, Leaving Fans Emotional

Although he is a rapper, j-hope often gives off a “slightly traditional personality” vibe to those around him. He does not pierce his ears, only appears with unique styles on albums or on stage, and does not cover his body with tattoos like what rap artists usually do.

Moreover, j-hope comes from a well-disciplined family, with a father who is a literature teacher, so fans had a hard time imagining that he would have a pαѕѕion for tattoo art. It wasn’t until recently, when j-hope appeared with three new tattoos on his body, that fans were both surprised and excited.

Currently, the BTS rapper has four deeply meaningful tattoos. He started with his first tattoo, the number “7” – a symbol of over a decade of friendship with the six other members of the group.

Recently, he showed a great enthusiasm for tattooing by getting three more tattoos during his stay in Los Angeles. In a few photos shared by @dr_woo – the tattoo artist whose studio j-hope visited – part of a tattoo with the word “Hope” on his knee was revealed. V was also seen accompanying him during this process.

In another video then, when j-hope participated in a dance challenge on TikTok for Cortis’ song “Go”, fans had the opportunity to see the full details of his second tattoo session. It turned out that he had tattoos on both knees, and the remaining parts included two lines: “I’m your” and “You’re”. Together with the word “Hope”, it forms his iconic quote: “I’m your hope, You’re my hope”.

Although fans speculated about j-hope’s decision to tattoo this phrase on his legs, they were still curious about what motivated him to do it in July. In a short live broadcast a few hours ago, he had the chance to officially share with ARMYs.

“To be honest, I'd been thinking about this for a long time. A big part of it was wanting to somewhat record meaningful words and moments on my legs, since they've walked me through this life for over 30 years now. So, I went with "I'm your hope, you're my hope", cause it's a phrase that felt meaningful to me, and to you guys too,” he said sincerely.

j-hope also continued to express: “I hoped to find new motivation by placing those words on my two legs that keep me moving, so I decided to get the tattoo. I have no plans on getting tattooed on the top half of my body at all, but as for my lower half, since a ve~ry long time- although I didn't tell you guys, I've been wanting to do it for a long time now. Idk.. there'd be some who like it, some who dislike it too. Regardless, I got it by my knee in a meaningful way”.

On the other hand, he also joked about a possible plan to tattoo his parents’ names – the most important people in his life. “Should I tattoo my parents (names) on my achilles tendon?”, he said with a laugh.

Just a few short lines of sharing were enough to move ARMYs. The phrase “I’m your hope, you’re my hope. I’m j-hope” is the clαѕѕic greeting the rapper uses every time he appears, and now it has become a part of his body – an indelible mark.

Many fans were touched when they realized the tattoo was placed on his legs – representing a dancer and the field in which he excels the most. Below the post, thousands of comments expressed their love for the idol and the meaningful tattoos he now carries:
