Boy Planet's Contestant, Facing Boycott For Past Malicious Comments About Jungkook, Has Contradictory Behavior Recently

Mnet’s popular survival show – Boys Planet – has returned with its second season, releasing the first episode of Planet K on July 17 and Planet C on July 18, 2025. Although the show has only just begun airing, it has already been caught in a major controversy involving one of the contestants from ¢нιиα: Peng Jin Yu.

While other contestants are gradually showcasing their talents to gain the attention of global au∂ιєnces, Peng has become the center of a strong boycott — not due to an underwhelming performance, but because of his past ѕнσ¢кing remarks about Jungkook and his recent actions.

On July 19, a post on X drew widespread attention by compiling information that revealed Peng was a BTS hater and had specifically targeted Jungkook in multiple posts on the social media platform Weibo before becoming a trainee. Among them were highly negative comments such as: “Kneel down to Lisa,” “Jungkook is a wild boar,” “Jungkook is a tattoo top who has relationship with Mijoo, and he's poor and violent,”...

These remarks were considered personally offensive, misleading, and showed a serious lack of respect toward a senior and globally renowned artist like Jungkook.

The ARMY community quickly voiced their protest and called on Mnet to review Peng Jin Yu’s eligibility to participate in the show. On X (Twitter), hashtags like “Peng Jin Yu out,” “Respect Jungkook,” and “Remove Peng from Boys II Planet” became widespread, reflecting the anger of fans not only in South кσяєα but around the world.

Adding fuel to the fire, a recently circulated video showed Peng Jin Yu performing part of a dance routine to the song “Seven” — Jungkook’s globally successful solo track — at a dance stage in a shopping mall.

Instead of receiving praise or support, Peng was met with harsh criticism for actions seen as contradicting his past, where he had severely insulted Jungkook. Many fans questioned: If Peng Jin Yu had previously publicly insulted Jungkook with offensive language, why is he now performing to a song by the very person he once ridiculed?

This action has been accused of exploiting the image of a celebrity to attract attention — especially at a time when Boys II Planet has just launched and many contestants are striving to stand out. Given everything that has happened, his future in Boys II Planet is now at serious risk.

Although the show has only just begun, public opinion clearly shows that au∂ιєnces may accept a trainee who has yet to shine, but it is very difficult to forgive those with ethical issues:

- a contestant on Boys Planet II, Peng Jin Yu, is a BTS and jungkook anti who used to post hate comments about BTS and JK on Weibo and now hes doing JK challenges to promote himself

- look at this khia he went from hating jungkook to dancing on his songs

- Peng Jin Yu, is JK anti who wrote hate comments and was shady against jungkook and gg groups but he’s doing JK challenges right now to promote himself anyone who writes malicious messages against fellow idols should not be eligible.

- We urge MNET to investigate this properly. Anyone who writes malicious messages against fellow idols should not be eligible.

- The audacity to hate on Jungkook and now use him for clout? Absolutely disgusting@mnetplus. How many more contestants with a history of hate and вυℓℓуing are you going to keep letting into your survival show?

- They admit that BTS are successful and powerful, hating on songs and try to promote yourself using his name

- and the funniest part of this story is that this blink fanboy was hating on jungkook but now he’s listening and dancing to his songs .. I love jungkook’s karma

- If you look at his weibo he is like donda of twitter .its way severe than just few comments .his hate campaign has done viral on weibo ..he is like donda on twitter

This incident once again highlights the weight of words in the era of social media. What is written — even years ago — can resurface and cause serious consequences, especially for those working in the entertainment industry, where public image is a key factor for success.

It’s undeniable that everyone can make mistakes, but what matters is the attitude in facing those mistakes. Up to now, neither Peng Jin Yu nor Mnet has issued any official response. There has been no apology or explanation from the contestant. This silence has only intensified the backlash.

If Mnet continues to allow Peng Jin Yu to compete without addressing the issue, it could seriously damage the credibility of the show — especially as Boys II Planet is expected to follow in the successful footsteps of Boy Planet and Girls Planet.
