For Kpop idols, participating in variety shows after debuting or releasing a new album is an indispensable schedule. Even BTS and its members are no exception, especially in the early years of the group's debut.

However, after the first few years of debut and until now, BTS still seems to be the idols who rarely participate in variety shows. Especially Jungkook, and recently he even revealed why he doesn't want to participate in these types of shows.

When Jungkook shared this reason, fans were completely against it but also sympathized because of his past experiences with reality shows:

There is a special thing about BTS that everyone can easily see is that the group did not emerge or need the help of famous ḳöŕệän variety shows as much as other idols. HYBE even has a regulation that the company's music groups, including BTS, will not be allowed to participate in filming for third-party reality shows, are not partners of HYBE, or HYBE can control the content. 

This is said to stem from the group's past unforgettable experiences when participating in reality shows not produced by HYBE. If you have been an ARMY since the early days, you will surely remember when BTS first debuted, just because they came from a small company and were not appreciated, even ignored in the variety shows they participated in. 

Especially the case of Jungkook when he was a new guest of the show Flower Crew. In 2016, male MC and comedian Jo Seho became an enemy of ARMYs when he treated Jungkook very disrespectfully. When Jungkook invited the members to eat hamburgers that he brought, Jo Se Ho expressed his disdain by saying, 'I think this is leftovers.'

After that, the entire cast refused to eat Jungkook's cake, making him unable to hide his bewilderment and sadness. And since then, it's also one of the only two variety shows he's participated in. Even when he recently released his first single or second single, he did not participate in any variety shows but only promoted through musical activities.

Sharing about the big reason why he did not participate in the variety show despite fans' expectations, Jungkook frankly expressed: "Come out on a variety show? But for me, I like doing stages/performances. But interviews I'm scared - no rather than scared I feel awkward. That's how I feel about variety shows too...Variety shows should be fun but I feel like I won't be good at it..!

Moreover, he also added: "I don’t know I'll think about it! Only reason why I went on Suchwita is because a member is doing it (so he feels familiar with the host). I'll think about it though!"

This makes fans think of his past bad experiences. In fact, Jungkook is a straightforward type of person and behaves honestly instead of tactfully to please others. Therefore, he does not want to once again find himself in a situation where he himself does not know what to do.

Not only that, entertainment shows require a lot of interaction between celebrities while Jungkook is somewhat introverted and a bit shy around people he is not close to, so it will be difficult to enjoy when join. But chatting with ARMYs for hours was never enough for him.

Therefore, whether or not Jungkook participates in reality shows is not a big problem for ARMYs:

- do whatever you like jungkook

- awww I hope he does whatever makes him comfortable! we enjoy everything!!

- do whatever you want and what makes you happy we will support you jungkook

- The Boys will do whatever is comfortable for them n yes they do n will get suggestions from their Label and others on different types of things to do but the final decision is always up to them each or the Boy are different and want different things that's a normal thing

- The introvert in him I can understand

- at the end of the day, i hope you only do the things you feel most comfortable with

- I agree.. He's a born performer and does great in stages. He'll be shy to do a variety show without the members..

- This is why I love him. He knows what he likes and good at and stays true to it

- Hearing JK say this makes me appreciate Suchwita and Yoongi even more, knowing that Yoongi created Suchwita so his brothers could promote their solo albums in a space where they feel safe and with somebody they trust

- Let him do what he prefers , for us they'll do well in anything but from their own perspectives they might think 'this' is better for me than 'that' , rather than pushing for som̾e̾t̾h ̾ing, chapter 2 is about accepting their uniqueness
