ARMY's Power Is So Amazing That Korean Politicians Have To Set New Rules For Party Election

It's not hard to see how strong the influence of BTS is. They even influence the field of politics - diplomacy.

BTS has become the talk of many high-level meetings, becoming a soft power for Korean politicians to interact with foreign high-ranking politicians... Recently, BTS was also invited to the White House to discuss with the incumbent US president about a socio-political issue.

Along with the power of BTS is the power of ARMYs accordingly. But recently, this power has led party leaders to fear leading political imbalances.

Specifically, at a press conference of "Democratic Party's re-election meeting" at the National Assembly on the afternoon of June 16, re-elected members of the Democratic Party of Korea demanded that party leaders separate themselves from fandom politics.

This is attributed to the fact that ARMYs are the citizens and they influence voters in partisan elections. Those who are loved by ARMYs will get an advantage in their voting as well as their personal opinion.

An example is Congressman Lee Jae Myung who received the strongest support from the ARMY among the candidates representing the party. He has expressed his love and cheers for ARMY many times before. He ever said publicly that: “I support’Ami’, which is as cool as BTS.”

Representative Kang Byung-won, who was as the spokesman for the re-election meeting, said they are sorting out the factors that influence political power. And fandom support is one of them. So they asked candidates to represent the party to separate supporting artists and fandom from politics.

Other officials are also concerned that ARMY in particular or K-pop fandoms favoring different political forces will affect Korean politics. However, many legislators and politicians cannot help but express their love and support for BTS and ARMY's positive influence on society.

Even foreign politicians are even scrambling to meet BTS at the White House. Many high-ranking politicians such as former South Korean President Moon Jae-in, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, etc. have repeatedly expressed their love for BTS.

Of course, for politicians who show their sincere heart for BTS, ARMYs have the respect to reciprocating. But that doesn't mean ARMYs are blind, and most of all, ARMYs have never wanted to get involved in politics.
