The popularity of BTS makes many people feel jealous. It is absolutely true, even if you are a normal person, there are many people who are not satisfied with you.
However, mocking BTS for no reason when they don't do any harm to others is something to be condemned. Netizens recently felt extremely uncomfortable and criticized a netizen who cursed at BTS for not being able to stand their success.
Specifically, this netizen is an employee of a large company in Korea. He used his company's Blind account to post articles disparaging BTS's success.
In particular, Blind is a community application for employees of companies to post and share anonymously. So this person sparingly cursed BTS in a post titled “I’m Going Crazy After Seeing BTS Buy Houses”.
He expressed his annoyance to the point of going crazy over BTS's unexpected success. He wrote: "Honestly. [sic] They were just doing what they loved and got lucky and blew up… Hard work. [sic] Didn’t I do more? Did they take the college exams? Did they graduate from a four-year university? Did they have to take qualification exams?
I worked hard doing things I hated, and I still can’t buy a house while these guys did what they loved to do and got lucky, and it is driving me crazy ha [sic]"
The post then went viral on several online communities and netizens were so angry and told him:
- “If anything, BTS worked multiple times harder than you,”
- “If you’re jealous, go be a singer, if you can,”
- “Go become an idol,”
- “Your work must be hard,”
- “This is the type to overwork his team, once he becomes a team manager.”
Other netizens were quick to point out the poster’s fallacy in implying that only studying is considered working hard and that only through studying can you succeed.
ARMYs point out that the BTS members have worked hard to survive in a harsh environment like the entertainment industry. They also recently talked to the US president and expressed their opinions on a socio-political issue.
Not only that, when it comes to education, BTS members are not inferior to anyone. Despite their tight schedules, they still graduated from universities and even Jin became a Master.
Meanwhile, BTS's RM and Jimin are known to be living in the luxurious Nine-One Hannam complex. A mansion in the complex has a starting price of 9.14 billion KRW (about 7.23 million USD). Other members also own many valuable real estate.
