The Video Showing Top K-Pop Celebs Leaving W Korea Event Reveals Why BTS Became The Target Of Criticism

Fashion magazine W кσяєα is facing heavy backlash from critics and netizens alike after its annual вяєαѕт ¢αи¢єя awareness event was accused of being “performative.” Instead of highlighting meaningful messages about вяєαѕт ¢αи¢єя awareness, the images shared online mainly showcased the luxurious, party-like atmosphere of the celebrity guests — raising questions about the event’s true purpose.

Over the past 20 years, Love Your W has raised only 1.1 billion KRW (around $770,000 USD), while the magazine reportedly receives over 1 billion KRW in annual sponsorships from luxury brands. The charity foundation was also reported to have provided health check-ups for only about 500 women, and has been criticized for not offering any direct support to вяєαѕт ¢αи¢єя patients. These revelations further fueled public outrage.

Not only has the event itself become the center of criticism, but the artists who attended were also dragged into the controversy. Although Dispatch clarified that the fault lay with the event organizers — and that the participating celebrities had, in fact, been used by the organizers — some people still took the opportunity to blame and attack the stars involved.

Among them, BTS’s RM, j-hope, and V have found themselves at the heart of the storm. Most of the hateful comments and negative posts were directed toward the trio, and in many cases, the criticism extended to BTS as a whole. Their names dominated online attacks, with comments like:

- I thought RM’s EQ was 200, but it must be 200 upside down

- V was drinking and hugging girls at a fake charity event — and fans still call that the ‘main event’?

- I’ve known BTS were hypocrites ever since they wrote songs containing lyrics that belittle women

- BTS deserves the hate — fans keep calling them the most moral idols, but look at this

Toxic individuals also began spreading false rumors and unrelated scandals, such as accusing RM of investing in an AI art project using ChatGPT that allegedly violated copyright laws, or spreading dating rumors between V and aespa’s Winter simply because the two were seen talking and posing for photos at the event.

Despite over 90 celebrities, including many top-tier stars, attending the event, the backlash seemed to be aimed squarely at BTS.

One fan addressed this issue in a viral X (Twitter) post: “Why is it that out of all the idols and actors who attended W кσяєα’s event, only BTS members are being attacked and dragged into fake drama? You’ll find the answer in this video.” The post included a clip showing various celebrities leaving the venue after the “Love Your W 2025” event — notably, BTS were not among them.

The original poster continued: “This video shows every celebrity leaving the event after it ended — but BTS isn’t there. When people asked the person who filmed it, they said BTS left through a separate exit under strict security (credit: @eanmy). That’s the level of respect and treatment BTS receives — they’re treated like royalty. Even the way they enter and leave events is completely different from other idols. And that’s exactly why K-pop can’t stand it. Of course they’ll be jealous. BTS is living the dream that other idols only wish for — the respect that BTS breathes every day. So they fabricate, twist, and create fake drama — anything to cope.”

ARMYs are no strangers to BTS becoming the centerpiece of brand campaigns or media headlines. It’s no secret that brands, events, and media outlets feature BTS more prominently than other celebrities — because everyone wants to benefit from their global influence. That visibility, however, often makes BTS an easy target for envy and blame, as others try to tarnish their image and reduce their public favor.

Meanwhile, while many found W кσяєα’s so-called вяєαѕт ¢αи¢єя awareness event to be yet another excuse to drag BTS instead of blaming the organizers, ARMYs around the world responded differently — by launching a global donation chain in support of вяєαѕт ¢αи¢єя awareness, honoring RM, j-hope, and V.

Fans left heartfelt comments under related posts, expressing both their frustration and admiration for BTS, saying things like:

- Here’s the truth: Your faves walk carpets. Ours redefine them

- Nugu privilege and because they don't care about anything, they just want bts to get hate

- Jealousy is reeking and overflowing specially now that Namjoonie officially announced the date of BTS comeback. We know what's really going on, and where they're trying to lead this hate train to. Stay mad, BTS comeback is inevitable. BTS you'll always be special, Kings.

- Most of wkorea videos thumbnail are bts members. So they only see bts and be jealous of their fame because their idol don't get it

- Because their album is coming and every fandom is scared so they are attacking this way

- Well this proves how famous and big they are among actors/celebrities/idols. When you’re at the top everybody can see you, no one else matters. That’s high up they are. that’s where BTS is. Others are irrelevant i guess. They meant to drag BTS but shows BTS status instead.

- Because all of them are nugus compared to BTS and you know the hate boner kpoppies and koreans have for BTS

- So basically the entire kdrama and kpop industry were their but the only ppl to blam is bts. They runs out weapon to cancel BTS comeback but fails
