The Truth About The ARMY Causing Wrong Alarm About A Subway Attack

Recently, an accusation related to ARMY causing a commotion at the subway station after returning from SUGA's concert has created many controversial stories. While many people began to criticize ARMY for the incident, many pointed out that there was confusion, even slander, behind it.

Quickly, some ARMYs clarified the matter with authentic evidence. They also point out their own wrongdoings while pointing out what are the false accusations against them. And the truth about this warning is finally revealed.

Here is an overview of the case that has been focused in recent time:

On July 6, 2023, a train on Line 9 of the Seoul subway system was quickly evacuated following suspicions of irregularities. The train bound for Gimpo Airport had to make an abrupt stop as it approached Sinnonhyun Station and pαssengers began to evacuate amid the commotion.

According to p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e and fire-brigade, at around 8:36 p.m, they received a report that there were "pαssengers with riot w3apons" and a "smell of gas". During the chaos, the people on the train moved out the train line 9 where the incident is believed to have occurred. During this process, some people lose their shoes, some people drop their belongings, some people fall on top of them, and food is trampled on the floor.

However, when the p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e and local authorities arrived, it turned out to be a false alarm. Police and fire officials said they investigated the insiders of the train based on testimony but found nothing unusual. After that, everything was arranged again and others were also asked not to spread misinformation or overstate the matter.

One Twitter user, @tom7890_ , claimed to have been at that scene, providing screenshots of their calls to the p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e. They αssumed that a foreigner next to them was screaming, causing them to panic.

This person wrote on Twitter: "It’s not a chemical @ttack or a knife @ttack at the Sinnonhyun station, so I hope that people will stop creating fear due to false information any longer.

The foreigner next to me was watching a video, and suddenly screamed, causing the situation in the subway carriage to complicate. People misunderstood and ran away.

I gave my witness statement to the p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e too.

Of course, I hope that everyone can be careful and travel with your earphones out. Stay healthy."

But that is not the end when the cause of the false alarm begins to be attributed to ARMY. Specifically, yesterday was the day of SUGA's last concert in Seoul and it is said that fans took up most of the subway at that time. Similarly, when SUGA went live to show off his tattoo, the ARMYs couldn't keep their feeling and screamed. It made other pαssengers consider it as the ∂αиgєя alarm in the context of the sensitive situation related to the last public knife @ttacks in the country.

A video of a group of fans screaming on an unidentified train went viral on Twitter. The video was ever posted by @egcanzina, who screamed when the tattoo was revealed but it was soon deleted after @egcanzina realized the trouble they had caused online.

But after that, it continued to be reuploaded by user @meeoee88 with the content: "It wasn’t a knife @ttack at Sinnonhyun, but apparently fans returning home after BTS Suga’s concert were screaming because he revealed his tattoo on live stream…". Note that user @meeoee88 was not present at the time of the incident.

So is the problem really caused by BTS fans?

The video originally posted by @egcaniza shows ARMY screaming and hustling on the train as SUGA shows off his tattoo. However, in the video, ARMYs are discussing because of SUGA's live broadcast and everyone just stood in place, not running away, causing chaos. OP also corrected that she was not on line 9, OP took the next train to Sports Complex, and arrived at 20:35 and this place was a few stations away from where the incident happened.

@egcanzina also apologized for their behavior on public transport and also claimed not to be on the train that had been evacuated. So it is not wrong alarm by ARMY on the line 9 train!

There's no denying that the ARMY in the video made a fuss on the train because of excitement at the time SUGA showed off his tattoos, a sensitive time and in public so this action cannot be defended, but it is not related to the wrong alarm at line 9 train. Video from the same time on two different trains, cannot be combined to blame ARMY for causing chaos on line 9.

According to another ARMY who was also on the midway train, she did not understand what happened but it was also stuck for a while, then she saw the p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e coming: “No one on the train was screaming. I received a notification but I can't watch live because I don't have headphones and don't want to disturb. Where I was, when SUGA showed off his tattoo, no one yelled but everyone watched quietly."

Understandably, because ḳöŕệä is currently unstable due to many riots and potential ∂αиgєяs, everyone who goes to public places is somewhat wary and afraid, causing a domino effect when seeing screams as well as warnings. But in fact, there is no evidence that ARMY's screams caused a commotion on line 9.

Along with the fact that the ARMY in the video was determined not to be on the line 9 train at the time of the incident, reports were sent to the p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e about the riot due to a gas leak on the train and suspected troublemakers. In the end, it is glad that nothing bad happened to ARMY and the pαssengers on train. This incident is a false alarm that causes panic and is also a lesson for ARMY in public behavior.

However, for those who are blaming ARMY for the above incident and the false accusations, it is also bad behavior. Those who have slandered ARMY need to acknowledge their wrongdoing and apologize for making unnecessary accusations against fans as well as BTS.
