When it comes to the Billboard Touring Chart (also known as the Top Tours / Boxscore chart), this ranking measures concert tours based on gross revenue from ticket sales, total attendance, number of shows, and the capacity of venues (stadiums, arenas, domes, theaters, etc.).
This chart reflects an artist’s commercial power and global popularity in the live concert market, not just their online fame or album sales. For a K-pop soloist, breaking into this chart is a mαѕѕive challenge, given the direct competition with U.S. and U.K. touring superstars.
Over the years, the Billboard Touring Chart has been “dominated” by global touring giants such as Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, The Weeknd, and Taylor Swift—artists with mαѕѕive stadium tours spanning dozens of nights, each attracting 40,000–80,000 fans per show and generating hundreds of millions of dollars per month.
By contrast, most successful K-pop concerts in major touring markets like North αмєяι¢α and Europe have come from idol groups. Soloists (even members of globally famous groups) often struggle to fill arenas or stadiums at the same scale, unless backed by an exceptionally strong personal fandom.
It’s also worth noting that the Billboard Touring Chart is calculated monthly/quarterly. This makes it difficult for artists with smaller-scale concerts or fewer shows to break into the top ranks.
However, when it comes to BTS members—most recently Jin—these limitations have been shattered. Based on Billboard’s Top Tours ranking for July 2025, Jin is the Asian Soloist with the highest gross and attendance in the history, and becomes the 1st Asian Soloist ever to surpass $30M gross and 200K in attendance on the Billboard monthly chart.
Jin ranked #9, earning $32.5 million from 12 sold-out shows, drawing in 217,000 fans. Notably, his two nights at Kyocera Dome (Osaka) grossed $9.6 million with 82,500 attendees, securing a spot on the Top Boxscores list.
What makes this even more remarkable is that the record was achieved with only 12 shows, without employing dynamic pricing (variable ticket pricing strategies commonly used in the U.S. and Europe).
Jin wrapped up the Run Seokjin Ep. Tour on August 10, 2025, in Amsterdam (Ziggo Dome), with a total of 314,000 attendees across the tour.
Along the way, he set several additional records with his solo project:
- The first кσяєαn soloist to sell out two consecutive nights at London’s O2 Arena.
- The highest K-pop solo attendance record at Honda Center (Anaheim, US).
- Broke a decade-long attendance record for a кσяєαn soloist in נαραи with his Osaka shows.
Fans expressed overwhelming pride and excitement over Jin’s new milestone, sharing their emotions online:
