RM Unexpectedly Thanks Belgium For One Special Thing That Helped Him So Much During His Military Service

BTS have wrapped up the first night of their concert in Brussels, Belgium, which also marked the first time the members have ever set foot in the country throughout their career. Although the show started about 30 minutes later than scheduled, the electrifying atmosphere was not affected at all. Tens of thousands of ARMY still gave their all alongside BTS, no different from the atmosphere at the concerts in Madrid just a few days earlier, once again leaving the members amazed by the love that European fans have for the group.

As the concert came to an end, the members repeatedly expressed their gratitude to the local ARMY. j-hope even commented, "Before I came here, I knew four things about Belgium. Number one: Sweet waffles. Number two: Amazing mussels. Number three: Beautiful buildings and arcнιтecture. Number four: Kevin De Bruyne. But after tonight... I can add one more thing to the list. Number five: Belgian ARMY!"

However, the most noteworthy moment came when RM continued immediately afterward with a very special message of thanks directed to Belgium itself.

Specifically, during his ending ment, the BTS leader shared, "Um, you know, some kind ARMY just told me that Belgium invented the saxophone. Thank you, Belgium. I had a great time in my military thanks to you guys. And everybody from Europe, I just thank you for coming, you know, from such a far away... Everybody I met on the street, they were all so kind. Thank you! And you know, the image of here is like j-hope said, waffles... but I didn't really know that you had such an amazing crowd like this. We love you, and I hope you had a great time."

Besides praising Belgium's famous waffles and the enthusiasm of the fans, just like j-hope and the other members did, RM's speech quickly drew attention when he mentioned the saxophone. Looking back at the idol's military service, many people would probably understand why RM brought it up.

Many people probably know that RM played the saxophone in the military band throughout his mandatory military service with the 15th Infantry Division stationed in Hwacheon. Beyond simply carrying out his duties, RM also showed a great love for the instrument, to the point that he brought it with him on Jin's military discharge day and personally performed "Dynamite." Then, on the day of his own military discharge, he also chose to play the Detective Conan theme on his beloved saxophone in front of fans and the media.

Now that he has spoken about how it "saved" him during his time in the military, fans have come to realize just how much the saxophone truly meant to him. In particular, local fans felt relieved because, in a way, Belgium gave RM soмєтнing that brought him comfort during his difficult military service—a period so challenging that he had to struggle with severe insomnia and undergo medication treatment for more than a year. As a result, RM's words of gratitude toward Belgium have become even more meaningful in the eyes of fans.

Under the video, which has continued to spread across social media, comments such as these have been pouring in:
