A week ago, rumors that Jimin had an official TikTok account sent social media into a frenzy after fans discovered a blue-verified account using the username “jimin” along with the idol’s avatar. At the time, the account was set to private and had only one follower, with almost no other information available. Adding to the uncertainty was the fact that someone had previously impersonated Jimin using a blue-verified TikTok account in July last year, leaving ARMYs unsure.
After a period of silence, on August 31, the account suddenly switched to public and changed its bio to “Hehe” in кσяєαn. The move sparked excitement among ARMYs, who began believing that Jimin was preparing to debut on the platform.
Just around 20 minutes after going public, the account reached 23,000 followers, and the number continued to skyrocket, climbing to around 400,000 followers in just three hours. Not only that, but other members’ TikTok accounts, including V, Jungkook, and j-hope, also quickly followed the account, further strengthening the belief that this was indeed Jimin’s official account.

If all of that still wasn’t enough to convince fans, BIGHIT Music made another move that seemingly erased any remaining doubts: BTS’s official TikTok account followed Jimin’s new TikTok account shortly after the idol switched it to public. At this point, ARMYs couldn’t help but celebrate, as this was more than just a follow — it also seemed like a strong confirmation from both the company and the group’s official account that “jimin” really belongs to Jimin.

While most fans were celebrating the confirmation, some ARMYs humorously brought up a mystery they had been wondering about for the past few days. One comment read: “A new mystery will remain: Who was that one follower when the account was private?”
When Jimin’s account was private, the identity of that follower was naturally not revealed. Now that the account is public and has dozens of accounts following it, there is almost no way to know for sure who that person was. This has also opened the door to countless theories within the fandom. Some ARMYs suspect that the mystery follower could have been Jungkook, with some even suggesting that he may have been the one who persuaded Jimin to join the platform.
Meanwhile, another detail related to “Jimin’s TikTok debut” has also become a hot topic among ARMYs over the past few hours. Specifically, shortly before Jimin’s account went public, he, j-hope, and Jungkook posted photos of the sunset outside car windows at almost the same time. The similar angles and scenery in the photos have sparked speculation that the 3J trio may have reunited — and, more excitingly, that they could have filmed a dance challenge for Jimin’s new TikTok account.

Discussions surrounding the topic have only gotten more lively, including: "I'm ready for whatever happens holy sh1t, bring it on Jimin!", "Ahh so it was actually Jimin, yesss welcome Jimin!", "Condolences to all the TikTokers. The god of dance has arrived", "The world was waiting exactly for this", "That “Hehe” bio is so Jimin-coded. I know", "BIGHIT basically confirmed it for us!", "The mystery follower is кιℓℓing me", "Jimin hasn’t posted yet and we’re already losing it",...
