More Than 5 K-Pop Idols Who Have Shown Support For Palestine

Since the 8th century BC, Palestine has become a country ruled under many different empires, and people's lives are always in a state of threat and ∂αиgєя. Until today, in the 21st century, Palestine has never been a peaceful and safe land.

In October, media coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian crisis increased. While more and more people are learning about the ongoing c0nflict in the Gaza Strip, it is difficult for anyone to actually speak out in support of the issue. Not to mention Kpop idols are people who have to be very careful in expressing their opinions on a political issue in public.

However, the following 5+ K-Pop idols are those who have always shown their support for Palestine over the years and called for peace for the innocent people of the Gaza Strip. Check them out below:

On October 7, Hamas - in the name of Palestine - launched thousands of r0ckets into Israeli territory, causing hundreds of casualt1es. Israel announced fierce retaliation, causing a new conflict between Palestine and Israel to erupt and spread. The history of pain and instability in the Middle East is recurring.

There is no one who does not want to live in peace and the innocent people in both countries deserve a better life than living in fear of w@r. However, this w@r has lasted for thousands of years and no one can end it. But it's better than doing nothing for innocent people. Over the years, there have been many Kpop idols who have used their influence to show support for innocent Palestinians.

In many different ways, they spread the message of peace and the pursuit of happiness to people in w@r zones:

1. KARD’s BM:

After the ḟïġḧẗing in the Gaza Strip began to become serious, no one did not clasp their hands and pray for the safety of the people there. KARD's BM is also one of them.

On his birthday, BM posted that “too many innocent people in Gaza” are losing the privilege to celebrate their birthdays. He asked for his fans to pray: "While Im able to celebrate another birthday, there are too many innocent people in Gaza losing that privilege. Please pray for all the lives ℓσѕт and lives desperately seeking an end to this"

2. SHINee’s Jonghyun:

When he was alive, Jonghyun was always outspoken about social issues even when he himself suffered a lot. More than anyone else, Jonghyun understands the severity of life, but he is even more moved by what the innocent Palestinian people have to endure between w@rs.

He posted an aerial photo of the Gaza Strip along with the comment: "The only word that can express the emotion coming up in my uneasy heart is the word "h1deous"."

3. BTS’s RM:

Meanwhile, known for being active in propaganda activities to protect human rights and peace, RM also made moves to show his support for Palestine. Typically, he went to the “Barakat” exhibition of Palestinian owner Fayez Barakat.

Later, RM also owned two works of art by artist Banksy. Banksy traveled to the Occupied Palestinian Territory and created a series of artworks in 2005, including two paintings he owns. They are described: "Banksy returned to Palestine in August 2015 to create a series of powerful new murals. In 2005, he already made history in leaving murals on Israel’s West Bank barrier wall. This time, the artist goes undercover, making a satirical travel advertisement for Gaza."

That shows how much RM sympathizes with the ḟïġḧẗing in this unstable area and is truly moved by what the innocent Palestinian people have to endure!

4. BTS’s Jimin:

Similar to RM, Jimin also silently shows his support for Palestine through his works of art, especially those of artist Banksy. One of the photos he posted is his iconic stencil: Rage, the Flower Thrower, or 'Love Is in the Air'.

'Love Is in the Air', also known as 'Rage, the Flower Thrower' or 'LIITA', first appeared in 2003 as a large format stenciled graffiti in Bethlehem shortly after the construction of the West Bank Wall. The graffiti was made on the 760 km wall that separates Palestine from Israel.

By substituting a weapon with a bunch of flowers, Banksy is advocating for peace, and he opted to install this particular message in a high-conflict area. The work also carries the message idea that peace comes with active hard work. In addition, the bouquet may also represent the commemoration of lives ℓσѕт in the long-running Israeli-Palestinian conflict - and thus, his use of art to relay messages of social importance.

5. THE BOYZ’s Kevin:

THE BOYZ‘s Kevin recently took to social media to address the hate he received after past comments resurfaced. In 2021, Kevin commented on wanting to visit Israel during a live stream.

At this sensitive time, that statement was once again overturned and many accused him of taking sides in the war. Therefore, Kevin had to speak up immediately to clarify his stance on this issue. Kevin told fans he was aware of the older video resurfacing and said that if his name being dragged led more people to be informed on the current issue, he was “okay with that.” He also asked those spreading more hate to “reevaluate their values.”

Kevin continued, saying that more sharing of resources and financial support links should be done instead of falsely accusing K-Pop idols of things. He reiterated that people should not focus on justifying or clarifying their views. Even if he couldn't say it with words because of the agency, Kevin still managed to find a way 2 years ago to tell his fans he stands with Palestine.

6. BLACKPINK’s Jennie:

As any idols is aware of the war at Gaza stríp, Jennie is also interested in art by Banksy, even since 4 years ago. Jennie  picked out Banksy’s Wall and Piece, showing her support for the peace of Palestine.

7. iKON:

The group’s 2015 album included an image that read “Save the Palestine.”

8. Jay Park:

Jay Park has been supportive of Palestine since 2021. He posted his support on his old Instagram account before deactivating it at the end of 2021.

9. eaJ (also known as Jae):

The former DAY6 member shared a thread on ways to help Palestine in 2021. He wrote that:

10. BTS's V:

As the two BTS members, V also went to Paradise Art Space ‘Banksy and Keith Haring Exhibition’ a special exhibition 'Love in paradise'. He seemed very interested in the artwork: "Jack and Jill (p̾o̾l̾i̾c̾e kids) representing the pursuit of peace and happiness for the children in Palestine or more broadly, all innocent people.

Moreover, V also posted The Flower Thrower, Flower Bomber, Rage, or Love is in the Air, an anti-war piece by Banksy, depicting a masked Palestinian throwing a flower. He even attempted to draw his version of the piece.

Similar to Jimin, through this artwork, he is advocating for peace in Palestine!
