As one of the most beloved BTS family members among ARMYs, Jung Jiwoo – j-hope’s older sister – has drawn attention not only for her family connection but also for her own impressive accomplishments. Jiwoo is currently the CEO of a well-known personal fashion brand, boasts a mαѕѕive following on both Instagram and YouTube, and is often recognized as a fashion KOL with significant influence among young people in South кσяєα.
However, her fame also comes with a fair share of pressure from prying eyes and insensitive comments from certain followers. Much like BTS themselves or j-hope, Jiwoo frequently faces overstepping behavior from toxic individuals online.
The most recent and troubling example has been a flood of inappropriate comments under her Instagram posts and YouTube videos, with some directly asking if she was pregnant or even speculating that she had suffered a míscαrríαgє — an extremely sensitive topic. These remarks took a toll on Jiwoo's mental well-being and ultimately prompted her to speak out publicly.
On Monday, August 4, Jiwoo shared a post on her personal Instagram account, highlighting one particularly invasive comment she had received. Although she didn’t reveal the identity of the commenter, the content she quoted ѕнσ¢кed many for its insensitivity: “Aren’t you pregnant? Or you ℓσѕт the baby? There is no bump and you are wearing tight clothes and doing exercise.”
Unable to hide her frustration, the fashion CEO responded by explaining that she and her husband were indeed trying to have a baby, but there was nothing new to share at the moment. More importantly, she emphasized that asking such personal questions is extremely rude and disrespectful – especially toward women who are on a difficult journey to conceive.
After ARMYs became aware of the situation, a wave of outrage swept across social media. It was clear that such invasive questions were a blatant violation of privacy and a serious overstep in the boundary between fans and public figures. Particularly, speculating about a pregnancy loss – a deeply emotional issue – was considered extremely harmful.
This wasn’t the first time Jiwoo had addressed the issue. Back in June, she had already pleaded with the public for understanding, saying: “There are so many questions about pregnancy today… I’ll let you know first when I get good news someday. I don’t want to get this question. Please...”
Jiwoo even mentioned that none of her close friends or family would ever pry into such personal matters. Even j-hope, despite being a caring brother, had only ever asked about her husband’s busy work schedule. It wasn’t until Jiwoo herself brought up the topic, saying “I have to think about having children soon,” that j-hope replied sweetly: “If it's a nephew, we'll have a lot of fun. If it's a niece, I'll spoil her so much and probably buy her a lot of gifts.”
Jiwoo’s post received an outpouring of support, sympathy, and encouragement from genuine fans, many of whom applauded her courage in addressing the matter directly. Numerous ARMYs urged her to continue protecting her personal boundaries, and called for those who had made such inappropriate comments to reflect on their behavior and learn to respect others' privacy:
- Disrespectful and insensitive. I can't believe that they can ask soмєтнing like that
- This is so rude and disrespectful, brah why do "fans" think theyre entitled to ask extremely personal questions to celebrities. parasocial ahh behavior
- This is beyond rude and disrespectful!!!!!!!! also second hand embarrαѕѕment because who the f*ck do you think you are to be asking this stuff??
- OMG some people need to learn some manners and proper etiquette.. what kinda question is this? Even for a friend or family member, this is highly inappropriate
- Guys… this is SO INAPPROPRIATE!!! Not only bc she’s Hobi’s sister but bc trying for a baby is so personal and so private and everyone’s journey is diff!!! Whoever posted this is so rude
- The Internet has made people so bold because they would never say this to her face
- Asking a woman if she’s pregnant — and then questioning whether she had a míscαrríαgє — is soмєтнing that should never happen, whether she's a public figure or not
- Even if she's j-hope’s sister, Jiwoo still deserves her own privacy. Don’t use your love for BTS as an excuse to disrespect their family members
- A woman trying to have a child should never have to face such hurtful questions
- Jiwoo handled this situation with so much grace. Her strength in standing up for herself is truly admirable
- It's нєαятвяєαкιиg to see women still being questioned like this in 2025. Jiwoo deserves respect, not invasive comments
- Calling out toxic behavior is never easy, but Jiwoo did it with clαѕѕ. I hope more people realize how damaging these comments can be.
