Not long ago, Seoul, Korea, suffered a lot of heavy damage related to storms. A few hours ago, the storm, which is considered the strongest storm in the last 5 years, continued to make landfall in this country and is expected to cause many other consecutive losses.
In light of this situation, international ARMYs and BTS are expressing their hope that there will be no human casualties in this historic storm. Here are some related situations:
In early August, the heaviest rain in 80-year history severely damaged the South Korean capital Seoul and the surrounding area, leaving at least seven people dead and six others missing. From houses to subway stations, everything is submerged in water and makes people's lives difficult.
After the historic storm, BTS along with ARMY recorded many donations to the government to repair the damage after the disaster. Typically, j-hope donated 100 million KRW to repair damage caused by heavy rain in Seoul through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. Some ARMY groups recorded donations of up to 40 million KRW to the government.
But the recent natural disaster situation has become more worrying when Super Typhoon Hinnamnor made landfall in the South Korean city of Geoje early this morning. The intensity of Typhoon Hinnamnor when it made landfall on Geoje was not immediately announced, but the Korea Meteorological Administration emphasized, Hinnamnor was classified as a "very strong" storm when it passed over Jeju Island around midnight with atmospheric pressure at the center of the storm is 945 hacals (hPa) and the maximum wind speed is 45km/s.
South Korean officials put the nation on alert about potential damages from flooding, landslides and tidal waves unleashed by Hinnamnor, which came just weeks after heavy rains in the region around the capital Seoul caused flooding that killed at least 14 people.Prime Minister Han Duk-soo called for evacuations in areas vulnerable to flooding, saying Hinnamnor could end up being a “historically strong typhoon that we never experienced before.”
The storm dumped more than 94 centimeters (37 inches) of rain in central Jeju since Sunday, where winds peaked at 155 kph (96 mph).
Most schools in Jeju have closed. Nationwide, 62 elementary, middle and high schools were temporarily closed, 548 schools switched to online learning and 1,153 classes shortened school hours in anticipation of storm damage. Many buildings here also had to close due to flooding.
In addition, a series of ferry services and flights have been canceled across the country. A total of 361 domestic flights were canceled on the afternoon of September 5. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has instructed the military and police to immediately deploy "maximum" personnel to help people escape the risk of storms.
After reading the latest storm related news, j-hope also went to Weverse and gave advice to ARMYs who are in Korea. He advises people to be careful and watch out for this storm: "I’m really worried. Please be careful of the typhoon".
Many other ARMYs also left comment below it:
- Hobi our sunshine always so careful for us ?pls stay safe everyone
- He is literally an angel ? Stay Safe everyone ? Stay strong ?
- yes please everyone stay safe and be careful
- You all stay safe too hobi
- The sweetest. Please stay safe everyone
- Hoping everyone stays safe
- Anybody knows how bad the typhoon might be? Hope everyone in SK is okay...especially after the last flood that hit Seoul....
- Stay safe everyone
Hopefully there will be no human-related damage after this storm! Pray for Korea!
