As a celebrity, you have to get used to the fact that while many people admire you, there are also plenty who dislike you or direct criticism toward you—sometimes entirely baseless. Naturally, BTS is no exception! Despite being K-pop superstars with a mαѕѕive global fandom, they face countless attacks every day, regardless of the reason.
On November 28, even as the MAMA Awards captured widespread attention, it could not distract from the toxicity of some individuals who harbor hatred toward BTS in general, or V in particular. The male idol faced a wave of criticism simply for sharing new photos on Instagram.
Specifically, just a few hours ago, he posted several images of his recent life and a trip to Hawaii with the Wooga Squad. He showcased his dedication to maintaining his exercise routine, even writing, “It’s too cold and windy to run now.” Other moments included going to the beach with friends and participating in traditional Hawaiian dance.

The photos were entirely normal and delighted fans, who enjoyed seeing the idol’s lively personal life. However, some people did not see it that way!
Within minutes, harsh reactions criticizing V for using allegedly “boycotted” brands, including Coca-Cola and Starbucks, began spreading widely across social media. Some netizens expressed their anger that V not only consumed beverages from brands accused of supporting Israel in the Gaza conflict but also shared them on a social media account with nearly 70 million followers.

Some even labeled V as a “Zionist” simply because he had previously posted images of these brands multiple times. Additionally, they pointed out that he is currently a Coca-Cola Zero ambαѕѕador in South кσяєα, which they argued worsened his “offense.”
The wave of hate targeting V was extremely negative, including comments such as:
- user thv stop consuming coke and starbucks
- coke and starbucks under a single instagram post oh taehyung i admire your daftness
- This zionist is not sparing 1 chance to promote all genocide funding brands mcd, brand ambαѕѕador of cola and now starbucks
- Taehyung posted Coke and now Starbucks. He isn’t beating the Zionist allegations
- Oh taehyung, you're Isreal's hero really while your fans praise you like an angel
- there is no one more Zionist than this person
- U all dragged female idols but this mf getting away with coca-cola, starbucks ambαѕѕadorships ?
- first coke now starbucks....he's the real ZioKing

For ARMYs, criticism like this directed at V is not new, and they are frustrated after repeatedly explaining to toxic individuals that even Starbucks and Coca-Cola are not on the BDS list—the influential movement that calls on consumers to boycott companies alleged to support the Israeli government in its occupation of Palestinian territories.
Moreover, fans highlighted that for franchised brands, the operations of Coca-Cola or Starbucks in South кσяєα are entirely unrelated to the activities of these brands in Israel or the U.S. Similarly, Coca-Cola or Starbucks in South кσяєα bear no responsibility for the actions of branches in other countries. In reality, products from these brands are used by countless people every day worldwide, not just V or BTS members.
ARMYs argue that accusing V of supporting a war-related brand in Gaza is a distorted claim from the start. It is clearly a malicious attempt to defame the idol, rather than a genuine effort for peace or humanitarian causes, as some wrongdoers claim.
The hunt and criticism of the idol have gone too far—especially considering the personal nature of these images, which simply depict ordinary life moments with no commercial intent. ARMYs have responded with sharp arguments to defend V and expose those deliberately trying to bring him down:
- Sooo what? Is he the first person in the world to drink Starbucks?
- Any source Starbucks supports genocide? I could only find the controversy with chat messages
- The "boycott" activism only happens when it's a BTS member doing the same thing that your faves do
- Every time V or any BTS member is seen with Coca-Cola, Starbucks, or McDonald’s, the haters start shouting moral lessons—but really, it’s just an excuse to drag them down
- Honestly, if this was anyone else posting photos of coffee or a trip, no one would care. But because it’s V from BTS, suddenly it’s a ‘controversy’—totally blown out of proportion
- I myself am against the genocide in Gaza, but that doesn't mean I boycott brands, so I'm not going to criticize Taehyung for that. Besides, I live next to a Starbuck's and I can tell you that it's doing very well.
- It’s deeply unfortunate that V has had to bear the brunt of misinformation, speculation and insults through no fault of his own
- People really need to stop dragging Taehyung for nothing. Drinking Coca or Starbuck in кσяєα has zero connection to politics. Please do your research before spreading hate.
- Starbuck in кσяєα isn’t Israel's. They’re separate franchises. Stop blaming V for soмєтнing completely unrelated to him.
- He’s literally just living his life, and people make it seem like a huge deal.
