On May 31, BTS made history when they met with President Joe Biden at the White House. They have shown their influence on social issues.
However, some people do not think that the appearance of BTS is appropriate. It was a case of American News Host Tucker Carlson, who is said to be disrespectful to BTS when talking about the group's appearance at the White House.
BTS did a great job when they discussed racism with President Joe Biden, crimes against Asians, Asian inclusion, and the importance of diversity. They have attracted the attention of many media and netizens.
Many news agencies and media have relentlessly praised the group for their meaningful statements. In particular, the members were commended for showing their passion for this extremely important topic.
Despite this, many ARMYs still expressed concern that there will be haters or people willing to criticize the group negatively. And just like what ARMY feared, negative things started to happen.
Unfortunately, an American TV host chose to talk about the event. It is Tucker Carlson who is the host of Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Some ARMYs were annoyed by his words about the event. Some people thought he has no respect for the group.
Specifically, instead of praising the group, he spoke in a way that seemed to mock up the appearance of a Korean group in the American powerhouse. He said: "Things have gotten very bad for Joe Biden, both public-facing and internally. What are they doing about it? Well, they broke the glass in case of emergency and invited a Korean pop group to speak at the White House today".
For many, it only seemed to get worse as the segment goes on. After showing a clip from the public press conference that BTS attended, the host had more words to say about the group and it was deemed extremely sarcastic. He added: "Yeah, so we got a Korean pop group to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes in the United States. Okay. Good job, guys."
The words from Tucket Carlson were criticized by ARMYs as very disrespectful when all BTS wanted to do was raise awareness about an important topic. But he seems to be racist against BTS themselves.
No matter how hard he tried to do it, it didn't matter when even the US president was full of praise for the good impact of BTS. Hater gonna hate, players gonna play!
