ADORA, Former BTS Producer, Makes A Surprise Debut As A Member Of New Idol Group

If you are an ARMY, you are likely no stranger to someone once known as Producer ADORA. For many years, ARMYs frequently saw her appear in photos alongside Slow Rabbit, Pdogg, Hiss Noise, and EL CAPITXN—the veteran production team that has been with BTS since their debut. At one point, they even visited a temple together to pray for the success of BTS’s comeback.

At the time, ADORA worked as an exclusive in-house producer at Big Hit Music, having joined the company in 2016 after being selected through the “2016 Next New Creator” audition. During her tenure as an in-house producer, she was primarily involved in producing a number of BTS’s нιт songs, including “Spring Day,” “Not Today,” “Magic Shop,” and “134340.” In addition, she also participated in writing and producing songs for other labelmates, such as TXT’s “Our Summer” and “Roller Coaster,” as well as GFRIEND’s “Labyrinth.”

Around 2020, ADORA ended her producer contract and left Big Hit Music after five years with the company. She later signed with Aura Entertainment as a solo artist, marking a new chapter in her career. In November 2021, she released her debut digital single, “Make U Dance.”

As a producer, ADORA gained recognition for her contributions to the success of one of the most prominent K-pop groups. However, the title of “BTS’s producer” proved to be an overwhelming shadow, making it difficult for her to establish a distinct identity as a solo artist under the name ADORA. Since her solo debut in 2021, she has continued to navigate the challenge of defining her own artistic reputation.

Notably, after several years, ADORA appears to have made yet another υиєχρє¢тє∂ career decision: becoming a member of an idol group. This news has circulated recently, surprising many fans.

Specifically, multiple sources suggest that ADORA may be one of the four members of the virtual idol group OWIS, which is set to debut this March. Alongside ADORA, the other reported members include Jini (2004)—a solo artist and former member of NMIXX; Ryu Sujeong (1997)—a former member of Lovelyz; and Lee Hae In (1994)—a former contestant on Produce 101 and Idol School, as well as the former creative director of Kiss of Life.

OWIS is not a group of real-life idols, but rather a technology-created digital group designed to operate with the image and fan interaction of a conventional idol group. The name OWIS stands for “Only When I Sleep.” The group unveiled its debut trailer at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, held in Taipei on January 10, 2026. Their concept revolves around dreams and the boundary between reality and the subconscious, with a narrative and visuals that immerse au∂ιєnces in that experience.

ADORA’s decision to join this new-style K-pop idol group came as a surprise to fans, given that she is currently active as a solo artist. However, the move is not entirely υиєχρє¢тє∂. Before becoming a producer for BTS, ADORA was originally an idol trainee at Music K Entertainment and had prepared to debut in the girl group project The Ark. Ultimately, the group never debuted, for reasons that were never clearly disclosed.

In an interview, ADORA shared that she spent many years composing and producing music for other artists. In 2019, however, she was diagnosed with thyroid ¢αи¢єя, forcing her to put everything on hold. Facing thyroid ¢αи¢єя in her twenties profoundly changed many of her life values, including motivating her to finally pursue her long-deferred dream of standing on stage before it was too late.

Meanwhile, ADORA’s vocals had already been well known among fans during her time as a producer. She was often praised for possessing a “mermaid-like voice,” which can be heard blended into several iconic BTS tracks such as “Spring Day,” “Not Today,” “Outro: Wings,” “Euphoria,” “Love Maze,” SUGA’s “Seesaw,” Jin’s “Epiphany,”... Later, as a solo artist, although she did not achieve explosive mainstream success, her vocal ability and performance sкιℓℓs have remained undeniably strong.

All of these factors have heightened fans’ curiosity about ADORA’s new role, with some hoping that this chapter of her career may finally mark a breakthrough moment. Fans have since shared words of encouragement for the singer, including:

- I really like Adora’s voice—there was a time when I couldn’t stop listening to The Little Name. Her voice in some BTS songs is also insanely good and super distinctive

- It feels more like a project than a long-term group, so it’s hard to tell what the future direction will be. Hopefully, this time ADORA will truly get to shine

- i hope adora is in there I love her solo work. she has worked very hard to prove her sounds. hopefully this time things will turn out better

- I really respect how she never gave up on her dream of being on stage

- Waaaaaaaaaait this is like the craziest lineup in a long long time. Good luck Adora

- She was absolutely outstanding in the projects she worked on with BTS. It’s just unfortunate that her solo career hasn’t received the recognition it deserves yet

- No one can deny how brilliant ADORA was as a producer and vocalist in BTS’s music. She’s incredibly talented. This time, please be shine

- Her solo journey feels more like a matter of bad timing than a lack of talent

- She’s finally fulfilling the debut dream she once had to put on hold, and that alone is soмєтнing to admire

- The fact that she’s still chasing her original dream of debuting shows how sincere she is about being an artist
