For Kpop fans, it is not strange for idols to have different real names and stage names. There are some idols who use their real name as their stage name, but there are also many idols who choose a stage name that is different from their real name for many reasons.

BTS also has some members using their real names in public while others have used stage names with distinct meanings. So over the past decade of activity, do they prefer their stage name or their real name.

The stage name for Kpop idols is not just a name for fans to call, but it is even a brand and has a meaningful story behind it. BTS members also spent a lot of time thinking about their stage names until they found a suitable name to debut like at the moment.

But now, whether their real names or stage names are loved by fans and often change when it comes to the members. But for the individual members, would they prefer to be called by their real names or stage names?

They had their own answers when doing a Q&A session with Ask Anything Chat. in it, a fan asked them exactly whether they would prefer to be called by their stage name or their real name. In it, Jin's real name is Kim Seok Jin, RM is Kim Nam Joon, SUGA is Min Yoon Gi, j-hope is Jung Ho Seok, V is Kim Tae Hyung, Jimin is Park Jimin and Jungkook is Jeon Jungkook.

V was the first to respond saying that he likes to combine his name with his stage name. After that, Jin gave many creative suggestions for V to choose from like “Vhyung” while Jimin said, “Kim V.” In the end, V thought that calling “V Taehyung” was the perfect match to represent his self.

Next, similar to V, SUGA said he no longer feels the difference between his stage name and his real name. But he often hears members call him SUGA or SUGA hyung. Especially Jungkook used to call him by the stage name SUGA the most but recently he has changed and calls him Yoongi more often.

SUGA pointed out: “He used to call me SUGA hyung but lately he calls me Yoongi". At the suggestion, j-hope and Jungkook shouted then, “Yoongi” and laughed.

As for Jin, the members rarely call j-hope by his real name and even his stage name is transformed. Instead, they called him by a creation based on stage names, including Hobi and Hobah.

Meanwhile, Jungkook prefers to call j-hope by his real name. Jungkook said, "I call him Hoseokie hyung". But soon, j-hope also pointed out that Jungkook once called him by another cute nickname: Bbaa!

Well, all the real names or stage names, and nicknames of the members are appreciated. There doesn't seem to be any difference between them because it's all imbued with the members' individual identities. It has also become an undefeated brand in the K-pop idol world.

ARMYs then also left their opinion and choice between BTS's real name and stage name:

- sometimes i call taehyung "v" without realizing that i called him v and not tae

- Real name but I use their stage name when I teach people

- I’m so used to call them by their names

- Real names but when I talk with non ARMYS I use their stage names

- both, i usually get mixed up

- Real names! but i use their stage names when talking to non-Armys

- Their real names. But when talking to my parents, they recognize their stage names

- real name and a bunch of nicknames for each one of them

- Initially I learnt it by stage names but I no longer use it. I call Joon, Jin is an exception sometimes not Everytime I go with Seokjin. I used V first now I can't, it's always TAE. And I call Yoongi not suga, Hobi and not JHope. Idk I call Kook or Jungkookie.

- Its both for me.. Their real names, theor stage names and their nicknames.. It depends on how the person i'm talking to knows them. Especially when i'm pulling locals into the fandom.

- i normally call them by their stage names because i talk with my mom about them, except for namjoon, i can’t remember the last time i called him RM

- Neither I guess. I call Jungkook, Koo. I call Taehyung, Tae. Namjoon, Joon.. and so on. So if those count as their real names then... their real names!

- I say their real names because of the fanchant. The fanchant helped me learned their names and faces so it kinda stucked to me for the pa̾s̾s years lmao. But I do call them by their stage names and nicknames too

- I usually go by their real names, or nicknames . But if I’m talking to non army I call them by their stages names except Tae for some reason I can’t call him V? Idk I never called him that so it’s weird

- Joonie/namjoon/monie; seokjinnie/jin/ jin hyung ; yoongi /suga ; hobi/hoseok ; jiminshi / jiminie ; teahyungie /tae/tae tae ; jungkook / jungkookie/ cookie/ googie I didn't even know i call then like this till you asked. It's nice to know
