V’s Father Shares Why He Was Absent During His Early Years - Touches ARMY’s Hearts

It’s undeniable that family is often the strongest support system for children in pursuing their dreams. As seen through many past stories, the members of BTS wouldn’t have reached the level of success they have today without the support and encouragement of their families during their youth.

However, not every member received immediate approval from their parents to pursue a career as an idol. RM, SUGA, and j-hope had to spend a long time convincing their parents—often by maintaining good academic performance and proving their perseverance and dedication to their pαѕѕion.

In contrast, V is considered one of the luckiest members, having received the support of his extended family from the very beginning. In fact, it was his grandmother who encouraged him after learning that he had pαѕѕed an audition, and she was the one who informed his parents when he was cast by the entertainment company.

Fans have long known the story that V didn’t grow up living with his parents but instead was raised by his grandparents in his hometown of Daegu, along with his younger siblings. The closeness he shared with his grandparents made him view them as his second set of parents.

Yet, despite not living with them during his early childhood, V’s parents still had a positive influence on his character and career in various ways. In many interviews, the idol has expressed how his father is his role model and has openly shown deep affection for both his mother and father.

When V’s parents gave an interview with a local newspaper and shared the reason behind their family’s decision to live apart in the past, fans were moved even further by the depth of their family bond.

According to the interview, V’s mother once held an executive position at a bank in Daegu, while his father was a small business owner who was constantly busy with work. Because of their demanding schedules, they didn’t have much time to spend at home with their children, but they worked hard to provide a better life for them, especially in terms of financial stability. As a result, V’s grandparents took on the role of primary caregivers for him and his siblings.

V’s parents also revealed that their children always listened to both them and their grandparents because they understood that their parents had to work to support the family. Thanks to his grandparents, who took care of their daily needs—from school pick-ups to meals—V and his siblings grew up to be healthy, kind, and intelligent.

Although his parents couldn’t always be physically present, they found ways to nurture and support his dreams. V once shared that he received a great deal of help from his parents during his trainee days. On one occasion, they traveled for 12 hours just to see him for 30 minutes, bringing bags full of bread and banana milk to share with the other members.

Moreover, during the hardest moments—when he nearly gave up and wanted to return home—it was his father who gave him the strength and encouragement to keep going.

Though they couldn’t raise him directly during his early years, it’s clear that his parents made sure he lacked nothing, be it material needs or emotional support. Fans can’t help but feel deeply touched after learning the heartfelt story behind it all:

- Taehyung's parents nor him don't need to brag about what they have or how rich and fine they're. They're supporting their son in the right way and keep their privacy SAFE at the same time. Whenever taehyung mention his parents it's basically to show his gratitude fr them and whenever we hear about his parents it's always about SUPPORT

- My respect to Taehyung's parents

- Woah this is new info for me. No wonder.. I mean poor family and saxophone clαѕѕ doesn't click muchFamily vacation packages

- He was not rich but definitely not poor either It explains the confidence and pampered look despite being provincial

- He literally had taken saxophone clαѕѕes when he was a kid if that's not a sign. Smh

- He didn't stay for a while. Taehyung himself said he was raised by his grandmother for 14 years and also the story about the expensive red coat when he entered the dorms. I doubt his mom was an executive, tbh. They were probably an average middle clαѕѕ family.

- Taehyung is the most significant person. like his parents.

- taehyung is a good person, has lovely parents, and that's more than most have. stay happy and healthy taehyungie <3
