For ARMYs, including Korean fans, those living in Korea or international fans, BTS' MV filming locations are always one of the most loved and most attractive. Any one of us wishes to once set foot in the places where the boys used to film their MVs.
But recently, one of those places has been destroyed, making many ARMYs regret that they no longer have the opportunity to visit it. This location is also one of the first places where BTS's glorious career began, marking a new era for their musical path.
One of ARMY's dreams is to be able to visit many of BTS' filming locations in Korea. BTS used to make many of their beautiful outdoor MVs at some special places and now it has become a tourist attraction when coming to Korea.
While some locations are being renovated into tourist attractions such as the Mosun filming site where the Young Forever MV was made, the BTS's bus stop at Jumunjin beach or Laundromat in Yeoksam-dong, and more..., there is one place that can't last forever with ARMY and BTS anymore.
That is the abandoned swimming pool of Seoul National University. This is also a place associated with the early memories of BTS with Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa Era.
Back in 2015, BTS released "on stage: prologue", one of the music videos that formed the basis of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life era, also known as HYYH. This era has evolved into the BTS Universe, a fictionalized story of BTS' life that fans are still telling each other 7 years later and forever after.
The place that BTS used to film this MV is an abandoned swimming pool at Seoul National University (SNU). Although the swimming pool is not a fancy or famous place, its natural scene becomes a part of BTS's career and youth. The pool is also the beginning of BTS: wild but full of color and hope.
The special scene here also paved the way for the rise of global K-pop superstars because the era of Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa has brought BTS to wider attention. After this period of time, BTS continuously achieved many successes at home and abroad. It can be said that from the abandoned swimming pool, BTS has touched MVs' millions of dollars, standing on the prestigious GRAMMY stage and the great Wembley Stadium.
This is also a favorite place for many ARMYs when it comes to the filming locations of BTS' MVs. Many ARMYs who have had the opportunity to visit this place have told about their experience of taking a bus to the SNU Genetic Engineering Research Center, then following a mountain trail to the left of the building to reach the abandoned swimming pool.
However, for ARMYs who haven't visited this place yet, there will be no chance to come here and take souvenir photos because the swimming pool was demolished last year. Some ARMYs who visited this place recently reported that they had demolished the entire swimming pool and renovated this abandoned site. Now, this area has completely no traces of the old swimming pool like in the old MV. It's time for ARMYs to say goodbye to the place where our youth began!
ARMYs also expressed regret at not being able to visit this place, while some ARMYs also felt sad that part of the 7 boys' early memories was gone:
- Bogoshipdaa TT
- OMG TT
- We will keep it in memory
- I wish that I had came here once time before
- From now, we ŀöṩẗ a place to visit
- It's so sad but it belongs to university
While this piece of HYYH history may be gone, it lives on in BTS videos and ARMY's hearts everywhere!
