The Person Behind Jimin Who Stood Against All Opposition And Helped Him Make The Biggest Decision Of His Life

Just like Jin, Jimin was not originally a K-pop trainee or someone inclined toward singing, but rather a contemporary dancer. One more similarity is that both Jin and Jimin were very excellent in the field they initially pursued.

Jimin’s dancing talent was discovered early by his family. His parents enrolled him in an arts high school in Busan and developed his strength in the field of contemporary dance. Throughout his school years, he was one of the best students in the school, and the teachers had high expectations that he would become a successful dancer in the future.

However, his career υиєχρє¢тє∂ly turned when he found his pαѕѕion for becoming a K-pop idol. He decided to stop contemporary dance to join Big Hit Music as a trainee. His decision quickly faced opposition from his teachers because they affirmed that he had outstanding talent in this field.

The teacher gave the reason for this strong opposition: "Yes, Jimin was very good at contemporary dance since his acceptance to the school. He also had the talent for all forms of dance as well. When he expressed wanting to go down a path of a public dancer rather than just pure dancing, it felt like I was losing a genius. I also couldn’t help but think about just how hard a dance singer’s path is and how success is not guaranteed in this type of work. That is why I was against his decision..."

Fortunately, there was a person who strengthened Jimin’s decision to become an idol and even persuaded his teacher so that he could confidently pursue the new path. It was none other than Jimin’s father!

At that decisive moment, Jimin’s father gave permission, firmly supported, and showed absolute trust in his son’s wishes. In an interview, his father recounted in detail: "Let me first explain how he was accepted to the Busan High School of Arts. In middle school, there was a time where he had to write about his future. In his paper, he wrote that he wanted to go to Busan High School of Arts and learn dance and use that background and combine it with music to become a singer or a celebrity. His paper was very detailed and I think this was the start of his dream to become an idol.

Of course he was good at dancing and singing from a young age. In fifth grade, he would sing Maya’s “Azalea” at karaoke and he was able to sing the high notes very well."

When he knew about Jimin’s future plans as well as witnessed the journey of the boy step by step conquering the dream, he could do nothing but respect his son’s decision and always stay behind to back him up. In the end, Jimin’s father was right when he always supported his son.

Even Jimin’s teacher, when seeing his current success, also congratulated and recognized his efforts. She proudly said: "...I didn’t know he would succeed like he is now. Either way, Jimin is a type of student who puts his all in whatever he does. He is where he is now because of his continuous efforts as BTS."

Not every hero stands on stage! For Jimin, there was a person who was always behind the scenes, fιgнтing for his dream at the most important moment. Their firm belief helped him have the motivation and confidence to conquer what once seemed like a distant dream. And the result was sweet for both himself and his father!
