The Korean Ministry of National Defense Reveals The Time They Publish BTS's Military Service Schedule

Today, the Minister of National Defense of Korea gave a speech to the press on many issues related to the Korean military. In particular, a question that many press units are interested in is about BTS's military service.

This has been a problem that has existed for a long time and caused a lot of controversy as well as unwarranted criticism of BTS. Everyone is hoping that the government can make a decision soon and end this complicated story as soon as possible. But it seems it will last longer than we imagined:

This morning, South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop raised the issue of fairness in the controversy over BTS' special military service during a press conference at his office in Yongsan. As reported by Yonhap, the Ministry of National Defense seems to remain firmly decision in the fact that no exception will happen to BTS.

Sharing in front of the press, Minister Lee highly appreciated what BTS has achieved and recognized BTS' contributions to the country as admirable. However, he also said, "BTS's record is obviously great, but law for special military service as a reward is a separate matter."

As we all know, Jin has reached the age to enlist in the army but currently, due to this matter is not over, no announcement has been made yet. In response to the press's interest, the Minister also said that BTS's military service schedule will be announced early next year.

Not only that, when discussing this issue, the Minister also said that considering the fairness of the performance of military service, it is difficult to expand special military service exceptions. He also said that basically, BTS members have always remained loyal to the issue of military service and the Ministry of Defense also maintains this position.

However, because there are proposed amendments to the Military Service Act regarding popular culture artists like BTS, the Ministry of National Defense and the government still have to discuss it. He also confirmed that he would closely monitor the public opinion polling process.
