As the BTS fever in мєχι¢σ City had yet to cool down, the group kicked off their first show at their next stop, Stanford, on the 16th local time. From very early on, Stanford had prepared to welcome the boys and, unsurprisingly, the city was once again “painted purple” just like every other city BTS pαѕѕes through.
BTS had around one week of rest before beginning their three-day concert run there, with approximately 50,000 ARMYs attending each night. During the break, some of the members shared glimpses of how they spent their relaxing time together.
In one post on his personal account, RM was seen relaxing in an adorable pink Kirby T-shirt. In another moment while strolling around town, he looked effortlessly cool wearing a ѕтяιρed jacket paired with a polka-dot scarf and a black baseball cap. Jin, meanwhile, stayed busy preparing his signature mulhoe dish right on αмєяι¢αn soil, while the other members also shared photos of themselves happily enjoying the meal along with kimchi soup personally cooked by Jin himself.

On the day of the concert, SUGA also revealed a special experience during his break in Stanford that left a huge impression on him. It was an υиєχρє¢тє∂ encounter with ARMYs — and their behavior completely amazed him!
Specifically, during the au∂ιєnce interaction segment toward the end of the show, SUGA shared: “Two days ago, I went to the shopping mall and came across so many ARMYs. They just see me, get surprised and go away,” before laughing and praising, “It was so nice, their manners were so good.” Clearly, the ARMYs recognized him, but they practically chose to “pretend not to notice” and intentionally “ignore” their idol instead.
SUGA’s comments quickly drew attention from both fans and netizens. Normally, when famous idols are recognized in public, large crowds tend to gather around them, follow them, take photos or videos, and try to approach them even when it is not part of an official schedule. Not long ago, when BTS stopped in мєχι¢σ, huge crowds gathered outside the hotel where the group was staying for hours, causing disorder and significantly affecting the members’ privacy.
That is why the experience in Stanford was clearly soмєтнing very rare and meaningful, giving SUGA a sense of happiness from being respected. The moment left such a strong impression on him that he could not help publicly praising the fans for their mature and respectful behavior!
Although not every fan is considerate and idols being disturbed in public remains very common, the majority of genuine and respectful ARMYs behave similarly to the fans in SUGA’s story above. There have been countless stories about ARMYs intentionally pretending not to notice or choosing not to approach BTS members if they α¢¢ι∂єитally encounter them in public.
One of the most talked-about stories involved a fanboy who attended BTS’s concert in New York City in 2018. The following day, he υиєχρє¢тє∂ly ran into Jungkook at a Balenciaga store. Instead of rushing over for an autograph or following him around, the fanboy intentionally moved to another aisle so Jungkook could shop comfortably. Interestingly, Jungkook himself ended up initiating a conversation after noticing the concert wristband the fanboy was still wearing from the previous night’s show.
Another well-known story within the fandom involved an ARMY who α¢¢ι∂єитally encountered RM during his personal travels. Rather than approaching and disturbing him, she simply watched from afar and took a photo featuring RM’s tiny silhouette in the distance alongside the Koya plushie she had brought with her. Afterward, the fan even encouraged other ARMYs that if they happened to run into RM during that time, they should try to ignore him as well so he could truly enjoy his private space.

Cases like these are considered examples for other fans to follow and are exactly the kinds of stories fans hope to spread not only throughout the ARMY fandom but across the wider K-pop community as well. Not only SUGA, but many other fans have also been praising and feeling proud of the ARMYs who gave the idol such a positive experience, commenting:
- BE LIKE THESE, ARMY. EVEN YOONGI SAW YOU AS A BUNCH OF GIGGLING ARMYs, but be like this, you have no idea what you gave them, you'll be remembered forever by them
- If I literally saw bts in public i'm running away like I don't care if i'm going to get some pizza like if I see BTS going to get some pizza too forget the pizza I'm going home

- Correct me if I’m wrong, but i didn’t even see a post from those Armys as well that they saw Yoongi as soon as it happened. Bravo Stanford Armys for respecting his privacy
- I was sooooo happy when he said this!!! To know they notice and that armys love and respect them like that
- Bro if I saw any of them in public, I’d probably feel like I’m gonna pαѕѕ out and go in the opposite direction. Please leave them alone if you see them. You wouldn’t want random weird men taking your photo in public while you’re just trying time shop.
- See how the boys like it when we pretend we dont see them. They like to do normal Ordinary things too so please respect their downtime and privacy
- High praise from Yoongi. Honestly I would not want to be perceived by them during their free time and would have the same reaction
- To that ARMYs who met Yoongi at the shopping mall, u’re a true ARMY!!!! Thank you so much for giving him personal space. The way Yoongi giving yall high praised, he must be really happy and comfortable that day. Thank you for that, I really respect you!
