When you meet someone, there is no way to know how they will affect your life story. This is similar to what the BTS members were unpredictable from the start.
But perhaps when they went together through a career of more than 10 years, they understood the importance of those who accompanied them. BTS is inseparable and that is a proven fact.
SUGA also made a similar comment and revealed why BTS has maintained their group activities for the past decade and more:
BTS has entered the 10th year of their career when the members are extremely famous around the world. Starting from chapter 2 of their career, they officially became solo artists when releasing new albums under their own stage names.
Starting from j-hope with the album "Jack In The Box" achieved many great achievements and coming soon, Jin with The Astronaut. The other members also cherished many new songs and music products to debut as solo artists.
Entering the 10th year, the new BTS members split up to work on individual projects, which seems to be late compared to artists of the same or later time. Usually K-pop idols go solo since they are successful in the 2nd or 3rd year of their career with the group. For BTS, this has its reasons.
In an interview, SUGA once shared that BTS members are a cohesive team and they have a close relationship with the rest of the members. In a group, one person's burnout and stress can bring down the rest of the group, but the opposite is also true. If someone feels down, the other members can lift that person up.
He said that: "Just being there for each other is a source of strength, even if we don’t say anything. It’s not about picking one specific person. We know each other so well, even without words".
Besides, SUGA also praised BTS's ideal synergy when working as a group. SUGA is sure that if he or any of the other members formed their own team, they wouldn't be as successful as BTS is now.
He shared: “Even if I had put a team together myself, it wouldn’t have worked out this well. When you travel, there are some people you travel with from the start, and some you meet along the way. I think the reasons would all be different.”
SUGA also mentioned that meeting the members was something special, “Whether it was done voluntarily or not, we started our journey together. As we continue, I can’t think of anything better than this.”
Last but not least, SUGA emphasized that BTS maintaining group activities has a greater strength than when separated. He asserted that: “Rather than doing something on my own, the seven of us doing it together has a more synergistic effect. ‘Could there have been a better match? We must have been destined to meet.’ I think that a lot.”
According to SUGA, BTS's activities can last for many years because they started together, together towards high milestones, and they understand the power of collective action. But it can't be argued that BTS's solo at this point is any less effective because the members have explained that it is a way for BTS to prolong their activities and become even better in the years to come.
Even when doing solo activities, the other members are closely attached to the person who is promoting their solo activities. It is still the embodiment of a group of 7 people who have accompanied each other throughout their career closely.
