Idols are just ordinary people too, and they also have emotions like anyone else—they can’t always hold back tears in touching moments. It’s safe to say there isn’t a single idol who has gone through their entire career without shedding at least one tear. Even BTS members themselves have cried in front of fans at least once.
TXT are no exception! For Yeonjun, the unforgettable “perfect crying moment” over the years was when the group won first place on Inkigayo with Sugar Rush Ride. The reason this moment was so important to him was that he had been an Inkigayo MC for a long time and was also hosting the show that very day.
Normally, Yeonjun had become so used to handing trophies to other groups and feeling happy for them. So, being able to hand a trophy to his own group—after five long years of waiting for that achievement—made him happier than ever. His tears symbolized his dream finally coming true.
Meanwhile, Taehyun pointed out that their leader is actually the member who cries the most in TXT, but he added that the group truly needs a “soft-hearted” person like him. With humor, he noted that every group has at least one such member: "But we do need at least one quick-to-tears character!".
SUGA agreed with this observation, adding that BTS members also cry often. He revealed: "Our members are also sentimental and cry a lot. It’s tough to see them cry sometimes."
However, when Taehyun pressed him to pick just one “crybaby representative” of BTS, SUGA didn’t hesitate to name the Golden Maknae, Jungkook. The reason for his quick decision was simple: "If I ask, ‘Are you crying?’, he cries."
Among BTS, fans might be more likely to guess Jimin as the most emotional member—he is often seen tearing up during concerts, while speaking about ARMY, or when talking about his fellow members. But in reality, SUGA pointed out that it’s the youngest, Jungkook, who cries the most—sometimes just at the mere question.
SUGA’s choice reflects an insider perspective that differs from how fans see things on the outside. Jungkook—who is usually perceived by au∂ιєnces as strong and well-rounded—actually shows his most vulnerable side in front of his older members. This proves that true emotions aren’t always visible on stage, but instead appear in everyday interactions.
On the other hand, SUGA’s half-joking remark, "If I ask, ‘Are you crying?’, he cries" reveals the deep bond between the members. It shows the trust and comfort in their brotherhood, where Jungkook can freely show his softer side without fear of judgment. On a deeper level, it also reflects the balance between their superstar image and their identity as just boys in a close-knit family.
Moreover, SUGA’s explanation reminded fans of soмєтнing Jungkook once confessed—that he was most affected when witnessing the struggles of BTS: “I do not like to bring up this topic, but it was terrible to see other members suffering from mental struggles and me not able to do anything.”
Interestingly, even though Jungkook has endured many physical injuries over the years, he rarely shed tears from the pain. Instead, fans often saw him break down when his hyungs cried, or when he reflected on the group’s near-breakup during their hardest times.
It’s also telling that Jungkook almost never cried during his solo promotions, but in the past, while performing with BTS, he often cried in front of ARMY at the end of concerts or backstage—always to be comforted by his brothers.
Clearly, he only cries when he’s with the people who matter most in his life! This makes the strong bond among BTS members even more meaningful, leaving fans both moved and deeply admiring their friendship.
