On the 6th of this month, RM’s short live broadcast on Weverse Live caused huge astonishment as he delivered many straightforward remarks. The broadcast itself was not accidental, but rather turned on in the context of him being aware of “the disappointment” of “some fans” recently, and the best thing he thought of was to reassure them, or at least say whatever he could so that fans would understand.
From the very beginning of the live, he said: “Many people are asking ‘Why did you guys throw late 2025 away?’ Well, of course we didn’t want to throw it too. We wanted to do a lot after discharge but there are reasons (we didn’t) that we can’t say. I have no right to say it. But I, too wanted to. Our last con was 2022. It’s been more than three years. Of course we are sincere and want to do a concert right away. But as you know, time flew and we need preparation”.
He also added, “Many people will be frustrated right now.. we’ll be frustrated cause it’s us, then the company for their reasons, and of course you guys too cause you’ve waited for too long but I’ve never taken it for granted. I’m someone who wants to work right now more than ever, it’s driving me insane. I hope you’re aware of that.”
ARMYs noted that RM’s words were spoken amid intense reactions from a considerable number of fans, mostly K-ARMY, who had been strongly criticizing the group on online communities. They complained about BTS not having any group activities in 2025 and demanded that the group should “repay what they owe fan.” These fans even claimed that if BTS failed in 2026, “there would be no domestic fans left.”
The reaction from this group of K-ARMYs escalated further due to the catalyst of dating rumors between Jungkook and aespa’s Winter spreading widely these days. Meanwhile, HYBE responded ambiguously to Korean media outlets, amplifying suspicion even more.
RM’s honest and straightforward remarks clearly reflected how aware he was of the current situation in the fandom and many ARMYs were shocked at how quickly he grasped these developments. Yet not wanting to leave fans guessing, he also frankly revealed the secret that allows him to stay updated with everything related to BTS so quickly.
“There are ARMYs around me so if something happens there are many people who send things to me right away, but since this is a live, I have to be careful with my words. I’m not the type to explain everything because I have many flaws but I still want to talk about what I can, hoping it helps”, the leader stated simply.
When RM revealed this, many fans suddenly realized they had forgotten the fact that while BTS may not update social media frequently, the people around them certainly might. Some fans jokingly said they should be careful now because BTS’ eyes and ears could be anyone. Others expressed admiration toward RM’s sensitivity and keen observation of the fandom.
On the other hand, beyond just “knowing things quickly,” RM is also thoughtful enough to process and handle everything in the most mature manner.
