RM Opens Up About Being “Tricked“ In Military And Then Questioned By His Commander Because Of His Generosity

j-hope, Jimin, V, and RM recently held a fun livestream with fans after their final concert in Stanford. Throughout the broadcast, the members talked about all kinds of topics, ranging from the concert and family to internet memes. They even shared some memories from their military service despite having been discharged for nearly a year already.

Jimin started things off by recalling the time he and Jungkook had consecutive nighttime military watch duties. He explained that the two often had shifts back-to-back, so every time he returned, he would have to wake Jungkook up. “Me and Jungkook had back to back military night time watch duty and when I come back I go ‘Jungkook-ah wake up, you gotta wake up now,’ then he goes ‘AHHH FFF’,” Jimin said while laughing.

Jimin further emphasized: “He didn't even care if the others heard or woke up and just goes ‘AHHH FFFFF’. He wakes up like a minute later, sits up and rubs his shaved head like ‘hyung, what the heck are we even doing here". The members could not stop bursting into laughter as Jimin reenacted the “suffering” reaction of the Golden Maknae Jungkook having to endure this in the military.

Meanwhile, RM also shared one of his own military stories, but this one was more “ironic” — he even ended up being questioned by his commander simply because....he had been too generous to the trainees in the military!

RM explained that one time he gave his card to the trainees so they could buy themselves things at the convenience store inside the military base. At first, the rapper thought they would only purchase a few snacks or basic necessities. However, the final result ѕнσ¢кed even him. “I gave my card to the trainees to get themselves soмєтнing from the military convenience store and they spent like 660,000 KRW, buying stuff like snail serum and daily essentials to a point it even broke the POS machine,” RM described.

Hearing this, Jimin immediately could not believe it and asked again: “Snail mucin serum??” RM then continued, “It was the first time the machine broke, so the company commander called me and asked what the heck was I doing and I just said I was buying them some snacks but turns out they had gotten stuff for their parents too. The receipt was so long it had over 100 items each.”

After the incident, the sol∂ιєrs came to him, bowed their heads, and apologized for overspending. Even so, RM responded casually, saying, “That’s okay.” But after thinking about it again, he jokingly said to the members, “but isn’t the snail serum a bit too much?”, making everyone burst into laughter.

Many fans also reacted humorously, saying this was truly RM’s “destiny” as the so-called “God of Destruction.” Some ARMYs joked that even when he was not personally swiping the card himself, the machine still could not survive a card αѕѕociated with him. Others commented things like, “If it were me, I would at least warn him beforehand so he wouldn’t be ѕнσ¢кed,” or “They knew he was rich.”

However, not everyone found the story entirely funny. Some fans pointed out that RM only told the story in such a lighthearted and humorous way because he is genuinely wealthy and generous. Even so, they argued that his generosity should not be taken for granted, and they felt the trainees had taken advantage of his kindness too much.

One fan wrote: “Someone is being kind and you chose to take advantage of it? As in the MACHINE BROKE?? Honestly quite shameless. He may be rich but you need to have self awareness to know when to stop and limit yourself from buying stuff, especially on someone else’s card.” Another agreed, saying: “Okay but this really wasn’t nice… you can’t just spend it recklessly like it’s your own money… where’s the ethics? where’s the morals?”

Under the viral post, there were also many mixed reactions, including:

- Rich people will just laugh it out, meanwhile if it's happened to me I will be broke af...

- To me this shows those guys who took advantage of his kindness,  where not raised to respect others, and do not take what is not theirs. The good thing is neither him or the guys are in the military anymore, and don't have to spend time with total strangers 24/7

- Joon is too nice, give someone an inch and they’ll take a mile. They took it as an opportunity to buy their parents stuff too to the point of breaking the machine & having a big receipt which wasn’t what he intended

- I remembered one his older friends (I thk PSICK guy) got angry bcoz when they go out, Joon's friend just told him 'nevermind Namjoon will pay' and he was like WTF. Bcoz why would they rely on Joon especially if they're older? Sometime I do think Joon too nice.

- Lack of basic decency and morals. Men of age 20-25 spending someone else’s money this recklessly just because he is kind and rich? Really sad with their mentality. Namjoon might be ok with it but it just shows the lack of respect in upbringing

- Eeww that’s disgusting! They bought stuff for their parents too using someone else’s card? Do they not have any shame? How could someone think it’s ok to do that? They exploited his trust and kindness.

- That’s messed up. He gave them his card to buy snacks and they bought all of that sh1t? Irrespective of whether he gave them his card, in my eyes that is stealing. Just because he’s rich doesn’t mean he has no sense of money and deserves to get stolen from…

- This is not funny at all, bought gifts for your parents on someone’s card? Wow

- I thought this is just in kdramas where they take advantage of their rich friend, its kinda sad they took advantage of his kindness though joon dont mind it, i hope he doesn't find people like this
