RM Officially Speaks Out About The Accusation Of Insulting Religion

As many ARMYs know, not long ago RM was accused of ĨŃŚÚĹŤing religion after sharing a...on his Instagram. He has endured criticism for a long time from toxic individuals.

Although the story ended during a recent live broadcast, RM once officially addressed the criticism he received previously. He also makes solid statements about his stance that fans can't help but agree with.

Here's what RM said about the incident where he was accused of ĨŃŚÚĹŤing religion:

Fans all know that RM is a brave leader and the intelligence in his behavior always makes others admire. RM not only shows this aspect well in the group's problems but also in his own problems. It included facing public opinion after he received tons of criticism for sharing a song on his Instagram that was deemed Islamic.

Specifically, the incident began on August 16, RM shared a song from Frank Ocean's debut studio album, Channel Orange, titled "Bad Religion" on his Instagram. RM has also done this often before and there have been no major problems. Famous Kpop idols also shared this song at the time of its release or publicly supported Frank Ocean like BIGBANG G-Dragon or BLACKPINK....

However, the controversy grew larger as some Muslims found the lyrics problematic despite having dual meanings, even anti-Muslim. In particular, some people allege that the content of Bad Religion contains many verses that reflect a negative view of Islam's opposition to same-sєх love causing controversy in the Muslim community. Not only that, these people think that RM used to be an ambαѕѕador of UNICEF and spread this song as unacceptable behavior.

Since then, RM has received countless ĨŃŚÚĹŤs and ĨŃŚÚĹŤs just because of an untrue accusation. Not only that, even RM's friends have received excessively threatening and ĨŃŚÚĹŤing messages just because they are related to him. But even so, RM never once officially spoke about this controversy until the recent live broadcast, August 30.

Through the live broadcast, RM gave his opinion as well as being aware of the extent of the problem. He started by äṩṩerting that he did not have the same thoughts as the accusations on SNS: "I know what you’re talking about, you keep telling me that I ĨŃŚÚĹŤed a religion, but I didn’t".

Then, he went on to explain that when he posted the song, he never had any intention to ĨŃŚÚĹŤ a religion, sharing that he has respect for everyone, but he saw what was happening online. He said: "There was no intention to ĨŃŚÚĹŤ a religion. I respect every belief and religion. That’s all I can say, so please don’t. I know what’s going on Instagram. I can see, but I never, there was no such purpose or at least one percent of my heart with the intention to ĨŃŚÚĹŤ a religion, okay?"

In particular, while he emphasized that he wasn’t apologizing because he had no harmful intention, he wanted fans to believe his words and that he was expressing his thoughts. He frankly told: "It’s a song, okay? I’m not apologizing, I am just saying. I am 30 years old. I can express my true thoughts. Please, the word is the word, it is what it is. Please believe my words from myself, not just gäṩṩing, pretending, and äṩṩuming, okay?"

RM then explained that while he knows some people might not believe him, he wants ARMYs to believe his own words and that he genuinely didn’t intend to нυят anyone. He continued: "I know my limits. Even though I am telling the truth, I know I can’t convince or persuade everyone, and maybe some people will still think of me as ‘he is still lying, you have that intention or purpose to ĨŃŚÚĹŤ,’ which I didn’t. I never."

RM acknowledged what ARMYs said in the comments but wanted to share that he was being honest and wanted fans to believe him. He said: "Guys, I understand what you are saying. I just can’t lie to you, I am just being honest. Please believe me". Before changing the subject, the idol explained that he didn’t want to address it, but he had seen it online and wanted to share his own side: "I didn’t want to say about this, but some people are making me say about this. I’ve been holding my things in my heart for like ten years, but now I can’t deal with this, I have to say. If it’s me, believe my own words".

Before RM's explanations, fans once again admired his bravery and sharp attitude when resolving the controversy. Fans also shared their support for RM's stance:
