After a long period of activities and global fame, the BTS boys have enlisted in the army in order. Jin was the first to be sent off by the members, followed by j-hope and most recently SUGA. This will be the same with the remaining 4 members of the group: RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook.

But perhaps many people don't know that RM had previously planned to enlist earlier. He once expressed that he had plans to enlist similar to the hyung line members, especially enlisting at the same time as j-hope but in the end he couldn't do it.

RM shared the reason for this interruption and ARMYs even felt lucky because at least they did not have to witness 2 members enlist at the same time:

Although enlisting in the army is really a difficult decision, especially for superstars who are at the peak of their careers like BTS. But most of the members have a thorough plan for this and thanks to that, BTS's reputation has been maintained all this time.

One thing BTS members have in common is that most of them released solo singles or solo albums before enlisting. Jin also released the song The Astronaut with Coldplay - a song as a gift for ARMY before enlisting, while j-hope released a solo album in June last year and before enlisting in early 2023. He wrote the song "on the street" for his fans as a goodbye gift.

Meanwhile, RM also released his solo album Indigo late last year and fans thought he would enlist after his September birthday this year ended. But in the end, RM seems to have postponed his plans to enlist with the maknae line.

Talking about his plan to enlist, RM once shared about it during a live broadcast. He pointed out that he had intended to enlist at the same time as j-hope because he had completed his solo album, but coincidentally, there was one thing that made him stay longer. He explained: "Originally I planned to go around the same time as Hobi but the current project came up, I pushed it further so I'll go as soon as this current project/music is done".

He is also known to be preparing a final album or song before enlisting. During his appearance on the concert stage with SUGA, RM also pointed out that although he had not yet enlisted in the army at that time, it seemed like it was the last time he stood on the concert stage before enlisting. He even performed an unreleased song from the new project: "I think this is the last time I'm standing onstage before enlisting. So I brought all of you a gift but out of my album, I started a new project with new people. I'll show you my unreleased song".

Meanwhile, in RM's latest live broadcast on Weverse Live, fans can see that he is still very busy with his project. When a fan asked when they could expect to hear his new songs, RM was completely honest and shared that they probably wouldn't be released this year. He shared: "When will (the music) come out? Maybe next year or when I'm gone? I don't think it'll come out this year".

He then added that when his new music comes out next year he probably won't make it in time because he's already enlisted in the army. It seems that RM is racing against time to keep up with his enlistment plan. But at least for now, there is still no specific news and fans are still waiting for his new music every day and every hour.
