Netizens Talk About ARMY's Reaction To V's Dating Rumors

V and Jennie's dating rumors have been constantly appearing in the news for the past few months after an anonymous person posted many pictures that were said to be the two of them dating. This information surprised many people when it first appeared, but the reaction of the fans made netizens even more surprised.

Recently, a topic on a Korean community site attracted a lot of attention when it came to ARMY's reaction to this story. Here is what is being interested by netizens.

The dating rumors of V and Jennie began to appear by an image leaked online that said the two were dating in Jeju back in May. After the dating rumors surfaced, the rumor spreader continued. continue to spread many images that are believed to be private of both artists.

This made the online community quite surprised and the dating story became the center of attention. V and Jennie are the two top Kpop idols, so when there are rumors of their dating, netizens are interested in observing fans' reactions.

Because of the negative reactions, even demanding idols are not uncommon in the Kpop world when dating rumors happen. However, the opposite reaction of ARMY in this incident made many people feel surprised.

Many netizens think that it seems ARMYs don't care if V is dating or not. One netizen started the discussion through a post titled, "It seems V's fandom isn't affected even a bit by the dating rumors."

Other netizens joined in on the conversation and commented:

- "I don't think they (BTS and V) lost any fans. I'm not saying this because I'm a fan but from the persepctive of a different fandom."

- "This is true, they're just getting mad that V is getting cursed at. If you wanted them to leave his fandom, people should have just not given them any interest. Rather, they (the fandom) banded together,"

- "Their group is not even a rising group and they (fandom) think they (V and Jennie) are victims of hacking. To be honest, I feel bad for them,"

- "Yeah, we're not affected at all, actually, we started liking Jennie,"

- "In Japan though, V's popularity went down,"

- "I'm a fan and yeah, his fans stayed the same because the years they've been active,"

- "I mean, he's almost 30, what more can we say if he's dating. If the photos weren't leaked, we probably wouldn't have known."

- "Yes we don’t care. We are fans of his public artistry. His private life his own. We are very excited for his future projects and raise funds for charities in his name."

- "Obviously, there will be jealous stans who will convince themselves V isn't/won't be dating anyone, especially shippers, in a fandom as big as BTS's, there's bound to be bad apples out of the vast majority of otherwise good, normal stans, but the fact of the matter is, I've seen more people/non-fans in Twitter get salty at the fact that none of V's fans are unstanning him more than I've seen V fans get angry at their idol for dating (I actually have not seen a single person unstan him). It's like they wanted his fans to be bitter at that fact but the fact that all of the V fan accounts are not focusing on his personal life and only on his work, is really pissing non-fans off. xD you love to see it

If any member officially announces they are dating, I hope this won't be a situation like EXO's Chen, I still feel bad for that guy, he didn't deserve that craziness. Say what you want about the ARMY, but it is apparent most of them just want to see their favorites thrive even though sometimes their passion comes off too strongly against others and I love that the majority of fans aren't focusing on what the members do in their personal lives except the minority of hardcore shippers. Their respectful, boundary-maintaining behavior so far gives me hope there won't be any boycotting of any sort in the future. Even if there will be, I think it will be futile against tens of millions of other fans who would otherwise welcome any dating news."

- "That's exactly how it should be. It's his own personal life so if he dates anyone or doesn't it's up to him. And he's a grown adult :)"

- "Yup. Don't care whatsoever that he's dating; he's an incredible singer, as well as a thoughtful and generous person. I wish he/they could have revealed any relationship information on their own timeline, when they felt ready, instead of the leaks and invasions of privacy."

- "It's nice to see people supporting V, the person and his right to a personal life. Apparently the writer has not taken into account the MANY stating it's a publicity stunt. Not sure if they are army, nonstans, Stan's, solo Stan's, or random people."

- "Love it, fans need to understand that artists don't owe you anything. Let them have a normal life behind the scenes and please respect their privacy"

- "There's a difference between not caring and not being bothered by it. Army care about his wellbeing and privacy but he should be free to lead as normal a life as he can....we just want all of them to be happy"

- "BTS real fans, real armys don't care. We just want them to be happy. ? They are our happiness too. ???????"

- "He is there to entertain us . He does that without fail and to perfection . I hope his love life is just like it ,without fail and perfection . I hope the rumors are true ! Each and everyone of them deserve a life outside of BTS"
