Namjoon Revealed That He Was Robbed Many Times By Middle School Thugs

The sad reality when many girls and boys blatantly gather to bully those weaker than themselves is no stranger in Korean schools. More or less bullying or school violence still happens and RM himself has been a victim of being bullied.

He revealed this recently on the 2nd episode of Melon Station. RM has been open about his past stories including how he and his friends were threatened by older students.

Here is the story that RM has had to go through and unbelievably, he is also a victim of school violence:

RM recently appeared on two episodes of Melon Station to discuss his new album Indigo. In the second episode, which aired on December 4, KST, he shared some never-before-seen stories from different periods in his life, starting from his childhood days.

RM opened his story by saying that he was a “difficult” child to raise. Right from birth, his parents faced many difficulties because he was a very large child compared to other children. Looking at his current muscular body, you can also see what a healthy kid Namjoon was when he was young.

However, RM also admited that he was stubborn and cried a lot as a child. As a result, his parents had a hard time processing the things around him. But after going through those years, RM started going to school and became more obedient, no longer stubborn or naughty.

Baby RM also had a genius brain when learning Hangul very quickly. RM joked that he was disobedient since he was a kid, so now he's trying to make up for that by being very filial.

RM also remembered his kindergarten days with more affection. At that time, RM was still a cute boy and had a lot of free time. He spent his free time playing chicken fights with his friends, hanging out at the playground, camping at the kindergarten and sleeping there.

But there are also sad and scary memories when RM went to kindergarten with his friends. That's when he recalled how some “scary middle school hyungs” would take away his bouncy ball or ttakji (paper cards used in a traditional Korean game). While talking about it, RM was perplexed: “I don’t know why they extorted kindergarten kids like that, but I remember it happening.“

It really seemed to be such a frequent bullying that RM now remembers still thinking those thugs were scary. But what's worse is that they do it to preschoolers who couldn't resist.

But fortunately, RM and his friends were not injured or beaten by them. Now they have grown up healthy and successful so those who bullied them in the past will surely feel ashamed for their actions.

I think that's also one of the reasons why RM and BTS have been with UNICEF for many years on the Love Myself campaign to help end violence, abuse and bullying, and at the same time, encourage self-respect and uplift. mental health of children and young people globally.
