The remaining BTS members RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook will enlist together in mid-December to perform their mandatory m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service. Even though Jungkook is still many years away from being forced to perform m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service, he is still ready to enlist and return at the same time as the other members of the group.

On November 22, вιg нιт Music announced that the remaining 4 members of BTS, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, are starting their m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service. That same day, Jungkook sent a letter via Weverse, announcing that his enlistment would be in December, making fans choked up.

In the letter, Jungkook admitted that for him, having to say goodbye to his fans for a long time made him feel sad, but looking back, he would use it as motivation. Jungkook wrote: "...In December, I will start a new journey, I'm leaving you for a while to serve in the military. As I deliver this news, on one hand, my heart feels heavy but on the other hand, my heart warms up the precious memories with our ARMYs coming to my mind. The time I spent until now together with you guys were the most bright moments of my life. The smiles, support, love of ARMYs have led me here and thank you so much for supporting and cheering for my dream and silently walking with me together. I'm somewhat cautious about asking you guys to wait while we do the military service.

One year and six months are a long time. So I can't say selfish words like that but I promise that at the place I've always been, I'll stand on the stage with an even more developed form of myself. Until then, I hope that our ARMYs' lives are full of smiles and happiness. And I hope that ARMYs' days are filled up healthily and beautifully. I'll be waiting until for the day we meet again to exchange new stories and I'll long for you/miss you from deep in my heart. Don't get sick or hurt and please stay healthy. I love you..."

Not only did Jungkook immediately show fans how determined he was to enlist early, Jungkook also showed his seriousness with the process by accepting the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴'s rules. It included removing the earrings, lip piercings, and eyebrow piercings that had been a long-time habit of his.

In a few images posted on Twitter by Usher - the singer with Jungkook in the Standing Next To You remix, his visual has a clear change. Fans noticed that Jungkook had taken down his piercings and it was clear that these pictures were taken during his recent trip to Los Angeles.

Fans also noticed that Jungkook's hair was also cut much shorter than before. It seems like he is implementing what he shared with fans during his live broadcasts. He once said that he would gradually cut his hair short until it was shaved when he entered the army.

Jungkook is getting used to the new rules in the army and that makes fans feel regretful:

Meanwhile, kσrєαn media reported that Jimin and Jungkook will enlist as companions on December 12. They enlisted 1 day after RM and V enlisted at Nonsan Training Center. With BTS fully enlisting later this year, the future opens up for a full reunion after discharge in 2025.
