After days of anticipation, Jin released the music video for his new song Running Wild from his debut solo album Happy. This marked Jin as the 7th BTS member to release a solo album in the second part of the group's career.
As expected, Jin delivered an impressive MV with scenes that left fans in αωє. Moreover, in an introduction to Running Wild, Jin revealed that he edited an important detail in the MV just because he didn't want fans to feel sad.
When Jin revealed this detail, fans were touched by how he always thought of them and admired his artistic ideas when releasing a solo album:
Since last month, Big Hit Music and Jin have informed fans that he will be releasing his first solo album right after his military enlistment. At that time, Big Hit Music described "Happy" as: "‘Happy’ is an album with a heartfelt message from Jin to share the journey of finding happiness, and contains a total of 6 songs in various genres based on the band’s sound".
In addition, the teaser for the title track released a few days ago further fueled the excitement of fans. The drama-like scenes and his stunning visuals made fans believe that they would be treated to a quality MV. ARMYs all over the world have been eagerly awaiting the release of the MV for his title track.
Finally, today, "Running Wild" did not disappoint ARMYs. Jin and his dog woke up to a day unlike any other. A meteorite strike caused chaos on Earth as people fled for their lives. It reminded fans of "The Last Day on Earth".
In that context, Jin remained calm! All he did was spend a happy day with his dog. He goes to the beach, sits by the pool, has dinner with his pet, and goes for a long drive, watches the explosions and fire in the sky.
The core message of the song is to stay calm and find happiness even when you are in the most difficult times in life. Jin's sincere acting shines, conveying an emotional message that resonates with the theme of the song.
In the final scene, a movie theater scene appears with Jin and his pet dog's emotional faces. It turns out that they are not actually characters on that last day but are just watching a movie being shown. At this point, I bet many fans are relieved that the main character of the MV - Jin did not have a tragic ending in "The last day on Earth".
But you may not know that the final scene of the movie was not originally planned. This was revealed by Jin in the introduction video of his solo album. Jin said that the last day event was the idea of the MV and he would ∂ιє during the event, but he changed it into a movie and he just watched it. He was worried that fans would feel sad if he ∂ιєd in such a setting.
Jin revealed his idea: "Originally, it wasn’t supposed to be a movie. Originally, we were supposed to watch the world’s end together like that. But I thought, if I ∂ιє, ARMY would feel sad. so I added the movie aspect at the end".
After hearing Jin's sharing, fans were touched that he had prepared a softer ending:
- SEOKJIN SAID THAT THE SCENE OF THE WORLD ENDING WAS JUST A MOVIE
- The relief I felt after the theatre scene... I didn't want him to pull a yoonkook on us
- Yea we can figure it out at the end it was just a movie nd dude literally kept saying that. i mean jin baby we’ve been through hyyh and hell ...ohh lemme add it about the Save Me comic and Begin Youth drama
- He is not wrong tho, my breath literally stops at that part
- @ KimTaehyung please take notes ..don't ∂ιє next time
- THANK YOU SEOKJIN we have survived HYYH but it doesn't make it easier
- He knows us so well
- Me to him: Don’t even say that jinnie.. was literally holding my heart as you dodged the meteors!!
- He understands us
- He knew we couldn't handle it, so he made it a happy ending
Meanwhile, Jin will hold a showcase to celebrate the release of his album tomorrow (16th) and the day after (17th) at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul and meet thousands of ARMYs around the world.
