Last December, Jin enlisted in the army right after his birthday ended. At that time, fans felt sad because they had to say goodbye to Jin but at least, they got to celebrate his birthday with him.
However, this year was not so lucky, ARMYs regretted that Jin's birthday party lacked a main character because he was in the army. But even so, Jin did not let ARMYs feel sad on his birthday when he wrote a letter to his fans on Weverse with a pre-recorded video of him.
It surprised fans while also being touched by his heartfelt letter:
These days, ARMYs around the world are organizing parties and projects to celebrate Jin's 31st birthday. For ARMYs, the annual birthday of BTS members or Jin in particular is an important occasion and fans constantly express their love to them on these days.
As usual, Jin or any BTS member will conduct a live broadcast on his birthday to blow out the candles with fans around the world. But this year, things were different when Jin joined the army and celebrated his first birthday in the barracks. ARMYs had to celebrate his birthday without the main character and of course, they regretted that.
Seemingly knowing that his absence these days would make fans sad, Jin dedicated a surprise letter to ARMYs on Weverse on his birthday. Jin shared that he wrote ARMYs always pray for him and are grateful for that. At the same time, he, like ARMYs, regrets not being able to celebrate his birthday together like every year.
Jin wrote in the letter: "Hi, this is Jin Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone wishing me for my birthday Always on my birthday, I'd enjoy together with ARMY you all through lives but unfortunately this year since (we) can't enjoy (together), my heart ȟɥȑțs. Even though I can't be with you together physically, please know for sure that my heart/mind is spending a great time with you hehe Already a year has gone by since I enlisted There's still a lot of time left but still if I spent just a third of the time, my heart is already going pit-a-pat on thinking about being together with you guys...."
But he also adds some information and his feelings after these: "Ah and it's said that the members are enlisting (kekekekekekekekekekegekekekekekeke) my are full of tearske (typo) ㅠㅠ I hope that the time goes by as soon as possible and (I/we) get to spend great time with the members and ARMY you all Thank you once again for the birthday wishes and I'll go visit your guys soon. *After (early) promoting once again through outstanding outstanding m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ life, this is currently Sergeant Kim Seokjin (important)"
Jin's letter was attached to a video that Jin recorded before enlisting. In that video, Jin also blew out the candles and made a wish in front of the birthday cake like he did with ARMYs every year before. The image of Jin happily celebrating his birthday made fans shed tears.
