Among all the BTS members, RM, V, and j-hope are known to have sisters, but j-hope’s older sister, Jung Jiwoo, appears to be the one ARMYs are most familiar with. This is partly because j-hope has been open about sharing stories related to his sister, and partly because Jung Jiwoo herself is a well-known CEO, influencer, and widely loved YouTuber on social media. She also occasionally shares glimpses of everyday life within the Jung family through her holiday vlogs.
Both j-hope and his sister have repeatedly shown a close and admirable sibling bond. Jiwoo is often seen attending BTS concerts or her younger brother’s solo performances, as well as using BTS-related merchandise to show her support. While her support for all members appears to be equal, fans have long believed that, naturally, j-hope would be the member she favors slightly more.

However, this αѕѕumption was proven wrong when j-hope revealed that Jiwoo’s bias in BTS has “never been him.” In a past interview, members who have sisters were asked which member they would introduce to their sisters, and it was during this conversation that j-hope shared this interesting truth.
j-hope explained that Jiwoo used to like Jungkook, prompting the group’s youngest member to ask, “Previously?” He then quickly clarified that her preference has changed in recent days, revealing that her current bias is Jimin. While Jungkook expressed playful disappointment, adorably complaining, “Noona, are you going to be like this?” Jimin, on the other hand, reacted with excitement, flashing a satisfied smile and saying through the screen, “Noona, I love you.”
Building on Jiwoo’s fondness for Jimin, j-hope added more reasons why he would choose Jimin to introduce to his sister, describing him as “charismatic,” “kind,” and especially good at aegyo (cute gestures), which always makes his sister happy.

Meanwhile, although j-hope himself may not be Jiwoo’s bias, there is still one extremely devoted fan of his within the Jung family. This was revealed by Jiwoo in a vlog documenting her brief visit back home in Gwangju.
Specifically, while her father was driving her home, he played j-hope’s newly released song, “Killin’ It Girl,” in the car. This prompted Jiwoo to exclaim, "When I come down and ride in Dad's car, he only listens to his son's song. Dad, you're listening to new songs, though...You're this close to memorizing the lyrics".
This moment revealed that not only “Killin’ It Girl,” but nearly all of j-hope’s songs are constantly streamed and memorized by his father—undeniably earning him the badge of j-hope’s most dedicated fan and a true ARMY.
But that’s not all! In a family documentary that j-hope once filmed, his father even had a stone engraved with the words “The World of HOPE” placed in the family garden to commemorate his son’s success.
What makes this story even more touching is the transformation of j-hope’s father—from someone who once opposed his pursuit of an artistic career to becoming one of his biggest and proudest supporters. Longtime BTS fans may recall the anecdote in which j-hope’s father once caught him pretending to study while secretly watching dance videos, only to sigh quietly and leave the room.
Comparing his father’s reaction from 15 years ago to the present highlights j-hope’s relentless efforts to prove himself and pursue his dreams. At the same time, it underscores a timeless truth about parental love for their children. In the end, family remains the strongest source of emotional support and encouragement for any idol. And BTS are truly fortunate to have not just one, but seven families who love, support, and stand by them every step of the way!
