During BTS's 10-year career, they have always been known as the hardest-working and strictest idols. That is also the reason why they receive so much admiration from their colleagues or collaborators, along with a series of unprecedented awards and records.
But being hardworking and strict doesn't mean that members always put so much importance on it that they feel pressured and blame themselves. j-hope is the one who sees the crux of this issue and he objects to one of the group members being obsessed with this. He made this member realize a valuable lesson that had a significant impact on him later.
Below is the story of how j-hope dealt with a BTS member always putting pressure on himself:
Most BTS members are praised for their hard work, professional attitude, and impeccable performance ability. All of this is the result of constantly practicing hard and always aiming for progress. But of course, these also create comparisons with top idols every now and then, and idols also feel pressured by the public's evaluation.
Therefore, for BTS members, they always try their best not to make mistakes or show an unprofessional side on stage. However, this unintentionally caused one of the group members to always put pressure on himself to be 100% perfect in front of fans. It is none other than Golden Maknae - Jungkook - who has a characteristic perfectionist personality.
Jungkook is famous for his strong, masculine appearance and rarely shows his weaknesses on the outside. This leads to him constantly having very high expectations of himself and always wanting to achieve anything becoming his weakness. Many times, BTS members like SUGA or V have advised Jungkook to calm down and think for himself, but it seems like the youngest member of the group still cannot fix this quickly. Sometimes he ȟɥȑț himself and his disappointment in himself spread after he thought he did som̾e̾t̾h ̾ing bad.
In particular, during the overseas tour, Jungkook cried a lot after the concert ended with torment that he did not perform well on stage. He returned backstage and immediately burst into tears no matter how much the members comforted him. Although it's hard for fans to see where Jungkook made mistakes, he himself believes that he didn't reach the level he expected and that he was disappointed because he didn't do well.
But then, j-hope came with his strict but still gently explained to Jungkook that the reason for his crying wasn't really as serious as he thought it was. j-hope started by explaining to Jungkook that as he tries his best and jumps hard into all the performances even though fans will get excited but it's important that he need to know his limits.
By jumping too hard during all the performances, Jungkook risks running out of energy at the end and even leading to injury. That's why Jungkook felt that the performance just didn't satisfy him because he was tired at the end. Even so, ARMYs can still feel his enthusiasm and have a good experience thanks to it instead of noticing his fault.
j-hope pointed out to Jungkook that he was too focused on his own mistakes and had too high expectations for his stage to the point of being obsessed with it, which is a big mistake of an artist. While self-control at such moments is a sign of true professionalism. From there, j-hope hoped Jungkook knew how to control himself and adjusted his energy according to each performance, instead of dancing crazily in all stages leading to exhaustion. He told Jungkook to try listening to him next time and he would have a completely different experience.
The way j-hope advises his younger brother is really smart. He understands the pressure Jungkook puts on himself and shows him how to relieve that pressure through his experience as a big brother. j-hope's extensive experience and loving heart helped Jungkook grow up after realizing his mistakes. And then Jungkook seemed to calm down, became less impatient and didn't put too much pressure on himself anymore.
Even though in some events when Jungkook performed alone, he often felt guilty and apologized to his fans for not performing well, but at least his attitude towards the situation changed. For example, on November, he has a performance on the TODAY Show but it is not perfect because the weather is too cold. Then, he apologized to his fans as a way of respecting those who came to see him perform, but he no longer blamed himself heavily nor shed tears because of his imperfect performance.
In the end, Jungkook realized that the professionalism of an artist is knowing how to express himself at the right time and accept limitations!
