Among the members of BTS, j-hope is famous for his friendly personality and sociability with everyone. But this does not mean that he is flippant and ignores basic standards of human behavior. There are people who make mistakes that j-hope thinks he will never be friends with.
Even RM's bad personality was brought into the discussion when j-hope talked about the type of person he cannot accept. This makes fans feel excited but also cautious and tell themselves that if you have to face j-hope, you better pay attention to his communication principle.
Here's what j-hope shared about the type of people he won't tolerate:
j-hope is often known for his bright smile, cheerful and sociable personality. He always brings joy to everyone. But one thing that is also very special about j-hope is that he is disciplined and always serious, trying his best in work or projects. That also creates a good quality in him.
The case where this characteristic of j-hope clearly shows is when he confronts people who he believes have made basic communication mistakes. j-hope will not hesitate to show his discomfort and even refuse to make friends. When it comes to communication, j-hope has certain standards to judge a person and he cannot accept that person if they make these basic mistakes.
In an interview conducted before j-hope enlisted, he was candid about this for the first time. Specifically, during a question and answer session where he was forced to make a choice from two given options, there was a question that interested him. That's when he has to choose which type of person annoys him more between a messy person and someone who is often late. The original question was: "Which one is worse: people who always make a mess whenever they visit versus people who are never on time?".
The answer did not come immediately as j-hope admitted that both options were not ideal in his eyes. In his view, both types of people are people who violate the most basic standards of being human. He even joked that one should try to cut ties with these kinds of people. He humorously said: "This one is tough…these types of people, you gotta stop meeting them."
However, if he had to pick one person to get rid of, it would definitely be the type of person who is often late. j-hope commented that he “cannot stand” someone who is never on time. He firmly said that: "I’ll go with the second one. I can’t stand a tardy person."
He considered that a person who is not punctual is more of a hindrance to others than a messy person. After all, a messy room can be fixed, but the habit of being late is just up to each person. He explained: “I can always clean up when they make a mess but being late is about basic manners".
For someone as serious and dedicated as j-hope, punctuality is a basic virtue. But it is a basic and practical rule of communication because time is precious. Being on time also shows self-discipline as well as the respect a person has for others. This not only shows how much j-hope respects himself and others, but also shows his great worldview.
Along with j-hope's answer, fans immediately shouted RM's name afterward. ARMYs pointed out that it seems like RM's messy nature is easily forgiven by j-hope because he is used to cleaning up the "destr0yed battlef1eld" caused by the leader during the years living together in the dorm. Fortunately, RM did not violate the communication taboo that j-hope cannot forgive.
But besides that, ARMYs also pointed out that this only applies to RM and BTS, but for everyone else, if faced with j-hope, it's best to avoid making a mess or being late!
