Now, when we talk about anything purple or see purple, we think of BTS and ARMY. Even many brands or many authorities believe that purple is the color that represents BTS.
The whole world is almost obsessed with whether purple belongs to BTS or represents BTS. But recently, RM and SUGA have made an unbiased opinion on this and I think none of us disagree with it:
Purple is a color that has stuck with BTS and ARMY for years since V's iconic speech about the phrase "Borahae". To repeat V's quote: “Just as purple is the last color of the rainbow, I will trust and love you until the very end.” Since then, the color purple and the phrase Borahae hold a very special place in our hearts and are one of the common expressions we express love to each other as well as BTS.
Over the years, it has also helped to establish and strengthen the bond between BTS and the fandom, which is why many consider it to be the 'BTS's color'. Later, many brands used purple in their products associated with BTS, many cities even changed the color of their lights and decorative banners to purple when there was a BTS event, many related tourist attractions related to BTS was remodeled in purple tones...
Most especially, recently, in the new RUN episode when BTS learned flying yoga, the silk hammocks hanging from the ceiling also used this purple color. An obvious thing that comes to mind of the members is the thought that they have prepared purple exclusively for BTS. Jungkook started the story by exclaiming: "No way! You matched these to purple, right?"
RM then quickly clarified this by saying that we are all obsessed with this and it's even a disease of BTS and ARMY. He said: "You know, this is a kind of illness. Whenever we see purple, is it somehow connected to us?"
But perhaps one sentence of RM that makes ARMYs agree one hundred percent is what he said: "We didn't pay the copyright for purple"
RM is absolutely right in this because by nature, purple does not belong to anyone and BTS does not own or have the copyright to this color. Only V owns the rights to the phrase "Borahae" he invented and recently there was a controversy regarding HYBE copyrighting "Borahae" under their name instead of V.
Jin then quickly added that there are a lot of purple things in this world. And the person who ended the discussion above and as well as many other fans was SUGA with the statement that: "Purple is not ours."
He spoke precisely and succinctly. But even if BTS doesn't own it, the successful thing we have done is to make people immediately remember BTS and ARMY when they see anything purple. Many even made it clear that not only purple, everything about BTS is a standard reference for them in life:
- You're just like me i fear
- namjoon saying it’s an illness how we see purple and think it’s bts he doesn’t realise how engraved bts is in our heads because i was talking to a dude and he said he’s born in 1997 and i immediately turn to my friend and go “aah he’s a jungkook liner” like BTS MEASUREMENT SCALE
- Suga was trying to say that the color was there before BTS, now, the controversy about the word borahae it is a different matter, it does not belong to the fandom to decide who's the real owner, the agency and the artists must to take an agreement
- Lol my mom mentioned this too. It's not like purple belong to BTS in this whole world, because if it's the fact, then even lavender or hydrangea needs to pay to BTS. I think that's how wise BTS members give their two cents about purple. But it's different if it's about borahae, it's solely belong to KTH.
- Suga must have never thought they would have color purple as their official color lmao But there's really nothing to analyze in what he said, purple is simply not for anyone to claim as theirs or any other color, for that matter.
- Totally agree but we made others get this disease tooo
- But the world still show that purple relates to BTS and ARMY, we're successful
- We are all psychologically manipulated kkkkkkk
