вιg нιт Music recently announced a new collaboration between Jungkook and Justin Timberlake for a new remix of "3D". While some are looking forward to a new collaboration between both of these global artists, some people oppose Jungkook's plan this time because it is related to the current crisis in Palestine.
Justin Timberlake was discovered by ARMYs to be a supporter of Zionism and has many negative behaviors and thoughts. In the context of a tense war and many Palestinians are suffering from tragic attacks, this collaboration project of Jungkook cannot avoid facing fierce opposition from fans even though it is a in projects done before Jungkook joined the army.
Below is the fan response to this issue and it is currently a big topic of discussion on SNS:
Earlier this month, Jungkook released the solo album Golden which includes new songs and both previously released singles, including 3D featuring Jack Harlow. With the unєхpєctєd success of "3D", Jungkook rushed forward with the re-release of a new remix of this song in collaboration with a new artist - Justin Timberlake. At 0:00 on November 24, вιg нιт Music announced the release of a remix version of this song, marking a unique combination between the äṃệŕïċän pop icon and Kpop superstar BTS.
It quickly became a topic of interest for fans, especially after the news that Jungkook would soon enlist next month was released. Justin Timberlake is considered the “Prince of Pop”, and is also one of Jungkook's favorite idols since he first debuted. Therefore, many people know that Jungkook will definitely be excited to collaborate with his idol.
However, not all fans are excited about this collaboration. Especially, since the articles showed that Justin Timberlake has a "different" stance regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palest1ne. ARMYs pointed out that Justin was one of the famous artists who signed a letter sent to US President Joe Biden supporting Israel and Zi0nism.
Specifically, the website NoHostageLeftBehind was created to collect people who support US President Joe Biden and government officials' support and financial investment in Israel, making the Isra3li-Palest1nian conflict increasingly stress. Not only that, the website has a letter thanking Biden for his “moral conviction, leadership and unwavering support” after releasing several hostages. The letter was signed by many top Hollywood celebrities, including Justin Timberlake.
The letter contained the following content: “…But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terr0rists, threatened with t0rture and ďệäẗḧ. They were taken by H@mas in the savage ma̾s̾sacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were sl@ught3red – women rαpєd, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the J3wish people, who have been terrorized by H@mas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palest1nians, who have also been terr0rized, oppressed, and v1ctimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaz@.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palest1nians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal víσlєncє spread by Ham@s. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.”
The letter was criticized by many for being inaccurate and disregarding the lives ŀöṩẗ of Palestinians, many of whom ∂ιєd in what some called human rights violations. With the singer's move to incite war, many fans declared that they will not support the remix because it benefits Justin Timberlake and will not abandon their ethics:
- i really really REALLY hate to say this but justin timberlake is a zi0nist. dont stream sнιт
- you can’t be free palest1ne and then defend a zi0nist y’all…. like f̾u̾c̾k ̾ justin timberlake period. that’s all … there js no but or why . f̾u̾c̾k ̾ him simple
- I hated the guy ever since he got the Superbowl free pa̾s̾s and Janet was banned. Fck him btw.
- I'm an army and I've been since 2017 but I won't loose my f̾u̾c̾k ̾ing morals for anything and anyone. Justin Timberlake signed the letter against a ceasefire. i won't ever f̾u̾c̾k ̾ing support a Zi0nist. I'm not sorry. I'll instead stream the original 3D!
- no one is upset with jungkook and pretending that ppl are so you don’t have to feel guilty for supporting a zi0nist is gross. ppl are understandably upset about this collab and have every right to not support it in the wake of an ongoing gen0cide.
- it should be expected that people care more about human lives than your favorite kpop idols. jungkook will be just fine and no one has said anything negative towards him anyway. we actually love him and don’t want him to be a̾s̾sociated with people like that.
- Don’t people understand that if this collab/remix doesn’t do well it’s a sole reflection on JT and NOT on Jungkook!! The original song itself has done exceptionally well so boycotting this remix is a point to show how JT is just not accepted by us!
- this is a perfect opportunity for us to boycott and have it send a message that also doesn’t really effect jungkook himself. it’s unfortunate we have to take this route but i don’t want them working with zionist at all so i will continue taking measures to achieve that.
Meanwhile, some other ARMYs said that because they support Jungkook, they will stream the song because he has nothing to do with Justin's actions. In addition, they believe that this remix was prepared before Justin Timberlake's scandal took place:
- Ok but I just wanted to mention that the whole industry is full of Zionists. Not only celebs, but directors, producers, CEOs, company owners, there's thousands of them. How are we or the boys are going to avoid them? I honestly don't think it's possible.
- JK IS NOT holding hands with JT all smiles and cheering for the de@th of P@lestinins. It's a song. A collaboration. It has nothing to do and not even remotely close to politics. You people... need to find things that makes you happy in your everyday lives.
- THEY ALWAYS HAVE A ISSUE WHEN JK RELEASES SMTHG ...LIKE WE R HERE TO SUPPORT JUNGKOOK AND WE WILL ALWAYS DO IT
- And I don't want any of those Army's who are sabotaging Jungkook's music just because of the xyz artist he's collaborating with we're only here to support HIM AND NOT THE OTHER PERSON KEEP THAT IN MIND We're only here for tannies y'all should remove that like 7 from ur dn if Y'all gonna continue doing that
- We care about Jungkook's music not the personal drama of his collaborators. If you don't want to support, that's fine.
- That isn't jk's fault? And do you think tannies always go behind doing bg check???
In addition, issues about Justin Timberlake's attitude and behavior in the past after Britney Spears' revelations about their old relationship, including the accusation of forced abortion, have been dug up again. That makes it even harder for the new project between Justin Timberlake and Jungkook to be accepted:
- Are people forgetting how hes still not remorseful for what he did to Britney either like zionist or not justin timberlake is disgusting
- Listen I love jungkook and I will support this collab but I hate that man. I am a big Britney fan and I did not go “digging” I read her book. This man forced her to have an abortion. I don’t like him. At all.
- mind you Justin Timberlake is a known abus3r who forced his girlfriend to get an abortion and took advantage of her to push his own career but trust in this fandom to make up excuses for all the evil nasty men that work with him like they always do
- his apologists coming into my mentions like that nasty man isn’t going to hell for all the sнιт he did
- you can’t call yourself an ARMY and support an abus3r like JT. like listen to other JK songs it’s not that hard. i still like JK and the boys just not JT
