It's been a while since the legendary collaboration of BTS and Coldplay was born. However, their friendship is still as great as ever. Recently, the new interaction of "Coldtan" is warming hearts and receiving many compliments from ARMY.
Last September, BTS and Coldplay released “My Universe” for their first collaboration. This song that has topped many charts shows the magic of music and love that transcends all barriers.
After that, BTS and Coldplay performed "My Universe" on stage at the 2021 American Music Awards and at BTS' PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA concert.
After that, although there weren't many other opportunities to perform together, BTS and Coldplay always mentioned each other whenever they had the opportunity. They also always give support and care from both sides of the world.
In particular, in a new Coldplay interview with KiddNation, an interviewer asked Chris Martin about the guitar he gave BTS's Jin as a gift. The MC asked, “You gifted your guitar to one of the BTS boys,”
Then, Chris Martin immediately replied excitedly: “Jin, yeah,”
The interviewer took Chris Martin's cue and continued, “Do you feel like the other guys looked at you like, ‘Aw dang, Jin got it. Like, what are we going to get now?'”
Chris Martin then explained that he has "extra respect" for the oldest member of BTS because it's part of Korean culture. Besides, Chris also added that the remaining members also received gifts from Coldplay: "Well, Jin is the eldest, so the way I think that Korean culture works is that’s okay to pay extra respect to the eldest, and I think Jin is–as far as I can tell–the most into guitary stuff [. . .] and we did give gifts to everybody, too."
Now, ARMYs are praising Chris Martin for learning about Korean culture and how he gave Jin the guitar to highlight Jin as an elder in BTS rather than "one of the BTS boys".
