Within the BTS ARMY community, many fans are global celebrities themselves, including veteran singers who are considered seniors to the group. One of the most prominent among them is world-renowned Filipino singer Lea Salonga.
She is regarded as a legend in the Philippine arts scene, having performed in more than a dozen musicals over her 42-year career. In 2011, Disney even honored her with the title of Disney Legend for her globally recognized voice in clαѕѕic films such as Aladdin (1992) and Mulan (1998 & 2004).
The participation of a musical theater legend is an honor for both BTS and the fandom. Yet, on the other hand, Lea Salonga herself has revealed that thanks to BTS, her mental health was saved. If she had to choose just one K-pop group to listen to for the rest of her life, she said it would be BTS. She has not hesitated to openly express her admiration for the K-pop superstars—artists who belong to a generation far younger than her own.
The Tony Award-winning singer has proven that fangirling knows no age limit. Moreover, she found many other “ARMYs close to my age, and we admire their talent. It’s like we’re proud aunties!”
Even in her 50s, her fangirl energy is no less vibrant than that of younger fans. Lea Salonga later shared a post on her social media account, praising the singer’s personality that shone through his actions during the livestream. She wrote:

I got exhausted watching because it was like dancing and nonstop everything, and Jungkook and his intonation is ridiculous. It's like he swallowed a stack of CDs. That's how good this one was.”
