Besides the GRAMMY awards ceremony, the Billboard Music Awards 2022 is also an expected award ceremony for BTS this year. However, according to the latest information, BTS will not appear at this year's awards ceremony due to a few reasons:
According to the newest information from industry sources, BTS will not be attending this year's Billboard Music Awards which will take place in Las Vegas on May 15. This is a bit sad news for those who wish to see BTS's performance at this show as anual.
At this year's Billboard Music Awards, BTS was nominated in six different categories. A common category is Top Duo/Group, following by Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global Artist (excluding the U.S.), Top Selling Song (nominated twice with "Butter" and "Permission To Dance"), Top Billboard Global Song (excluding the U.S.), and Top Rock Song.
This is also the first year that BTS owns seven nominations in this prestigious award ceremony. Their number of nominations also marks the record for the highest nominations received by any group or duo in the history of the Billboard Music Awards.
However, BTS has decided to be absent from this year's awards ceremony. The reason is that BTS is currently focusing on the new album, they will not be able to attend the awards ceremony. Instead, another source revealed that the group will give their speech in a video if they win any nominations.
