After a bunch of not-so-pleasant news, the latest news about BTS's activities ahead of their comeback is sure to cheer up ARMYs. That is, BTS will have a meeting with President Joe Biden.
This information was recently revealed by the US media and the whole world is looking forward to this meeting between Kpop superstars and the Presidents Joe Biden.
According to the latest information, K-pop superstar BTS will be visiting the White House, with plans to visit President Joe Biden to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes and celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month.
Although the details have not been announced, the White House representative said that BTS's visit will take place on Tuesday, which is May 31, 2022.
The White House announced that: “President Biden has previously spoken about his commitment to combating the surge of anti-Asian hate crimes and signed into law the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act in May 2021 to provide law enforcement with resources to identify, investigate, and report hate crimes and ensure that hate crimes information is more accessible to AA and NHPI communities".
They even added that: “President Biden and BTS will also discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion and BTS’ platform as youth ambassadors who spread a message of hope and positivity across the world.”
BTS partnered with UNICEF to launch Love Myself, an anti-violence campaign. They also performed at the United Nations General Assembly and spoke on humanitarian, environmental, and racial issues.
Not only that, but BTS is also one of the characters that have a profound influence on young people. The White House knows this and chooses BTS for the upcoming talk with the President to improve social issues
These meetings are part of a program that uses culturally influential public figures to address social issues. Last week, Selena Gomez appeared with First Lady Jill Biden at an event to raise awareness about mental health.
Additionally, earlier this month, Paris Hilton visited the White House to speak with administration officials about her support of youth protection in residential programs.
Thus, along with other famous stars in the world, BTS is the first Korean group to have the privilege of participating in a talk with the incumbent President of the United States.
