A few minutes ago, BTS was present at the Brady Press Briefing of the White House in Washington, DC before meeting President Joe Biden at the oval office. They made some statements and answered interview questions in front of the press.
Although the interview time was not long, the members mentioned several core issues, showing what they would convey in the upcoming talk. And even in America, at the White House, they don't forget to mention ARMY.
So the proudest and most awaited moment has come! BTS went to the White House and toured the most powerful house in America. They also made some film with the White House digital team.
Following that, a few minutes ago, BTS appeared at the daily press briefing with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
At the beginning of the brief press conference, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre introduced BTS and commented: “While many of you may know BTS as Grammy-nominated international icons, they also play an important role as youth ambassadors,”.
This shows the important position and real role of BTS rather than an artist in this trip.
Next, RM opened the BTS members with a couple of introductions. He thanked the President for allowing BTS to come to the White House and discuss "important issues on anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion, and diversity".
Jin said after RM that the group "stands with the AANHPI community,". Jimin also added that the group was "devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian American hate crimes," and was at the White House to help "put a stop to this and support the cause."
Next, j-hope represents BTS to say some words to ARMY. He mentioned: “We are here today thanks to our Army - our fans worldwide - who have different nationalities and cultures and use different languages. We are truly and always grateful.”
Jungkook concluded their speech by sharing that the group was “still surprised that music created by South Korean artists reaches so many people around the world…we believe music is always an amazing and wonderful unifier of all things.” Suga also added, “It’s not wrong to be different, equality begins when we open up and embrace all of our differences.”
V ended the speech with “We hope today is one step forward to respecting and understanding each and everyone as a valuable person.”
What BTS mentioned in Press Briefing is very meaningful and makes many followers feel extremely touched. Reporters also give a lot of love and support to BTS.
One of the reporters even shouted "BTS! Hwating" (BTS! Come on!) to cheer them up before meeting President Joe Biden. Wish the boys will have a smooth and memorable discussion at the White House!
