When it comes to the most popular mobile phone brands in the world today, iPhone and Samsung are clearly at the top of the list. The two brands dominate much of the attention in the smartphone market, while their latest models are always considered top choices. So, it is hardly surprising that their products also appear in the hands of many famous stars — including BTS.

BTS themselves have an interesting split when it comes to their phone preferences. Jin, SUGA, j-hope, and Jimin are known as the members who use Samsung, while V and Jungkook are more devoted to iPhones. RM used to be a Samsung fan in his earlier years, but over the past 1–2 years, he has switched to Apple. He even followed the trend and bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange last year.

And since leading smartphone brands have a tradition of releasing new products every year, it is hardly surprising that trendsetters in many fields like BTS also keep up with the latest phone models. ARMYs recently had fun noticing that some members seem to have upgraded to new phones and have even been subtly “showing them off” to fans.

RM was one of the first members to make fans notice the change. Since late September, he has repeatedly shared selfies showing a new phone in his hand — completely different from the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange that he had been using for more than a year: an iPhone 18 Pro in Deep Black.

In one mirror selfie taken while RM was preparing to take the stage for the opening speech at his solo RM x SFMOMA exhibition, fans were also amused to notice that he was using an adorable wнιтe phone case featuring Kitty.

In early October, Jungkook was not far behind his leader, catching fans’ attention with creative mirror selfies featuring his new phone. At one point, he shared a mirror photo edited with a spiral effect. Most recently, he posted another series of selfies showing his bare-faced look, black T-shirt, and prominent tattoos on his arms and hands, while striking all kinds of funny and interesting poses.

But one detail shared by all of these photos immediately caught fans’ attention: Jungkook was using a light-blue phone with a large camera module, which fans instantly recognized as the Crisp Blue iPhone 18 series newly released in September this year. Notably, he also paired the new phone with Apple’s Silicone MagSafe Case for iPhone 18 Pro – Crisp Blue, which costs around $50.

Looking at RM and Jungkook’s photos, many fans could not help but laugh, saying that the two looked as if they were shooting advertisements for the new iPhone. Seeing both members appear one after another with their new iPhones also amused ARMYs, who realized that BTS apparently enjoy keeping their phones updated every year too. Perhaps the funniest part is how enthusiastically they use their new phones to take mirror selfies and share them with fans. Fans’ hilarious reactions included:
